These things are also happening in the Aliento community, as eddiespino mentioned in this post, especially regarding people who are simply taking content from other users and publishing it as if it were their own. In the Brazilian community, where I am one of the leaders, I am always vigilant about this type of abuse, and our blacklist has been growing. It’s important to stay alert to this kind of abuse and punish it to discourage further violations.
I got the information from @logic that these users are part of a botnet. So far, 17,462 related accounts have been found.
Hopefully, the Hivewatchers team can tag these botnet users as soon as they post, so that it will be easier to determine which users are bad guys.
For us community members, preventing them from getting benefits is what we can do at the moment. Making them return empty-handed will naturally solve the problem.
