Discord has proven to be an excellent way to network, meet and talk with other Hive users "off-chain". Many casually check in and out of Discord groups and it seems to be almost its own ecosystem on its self. It is where many curators find posts, or to vote on posts. And hanging around in many of these discords can get you noticed. They are also a great place for support, such as groups like "The Terminal" where new users can find mentorship and help find out the proper way to conduct yourself on Hive.
Other groups are more known as "wild west cowboy bars" you may want to turn back and leave upon entering... lol Though I find those groups the most fun honestly.
Some even do interactive shows such as DreemPort, and #PYPT (Pimp Your Post Thursdays) hosted by @shadowspub where you can show off your posts to a group of Discord Hive users, if you post is good they may upvote or comment on it. You can also just listen in and curate and comment on posts you like that are presented.
There are some private groups such as Canna-Curate which serves as an excellent place to ask for growing advise, a strong group of growers hang out in there and really thankful to have every single one of them there.
Some groups such as Original Content Decentralized (OCD) have level up abilities, the more you post there the higher level Pokemon your Discord avatar becomes.. A fun idea.
Other groups such as HiveWatchers, going there may be due to having a downvote on your account and deal with it in the appeals area. But observing the interactions there and comments I have found out many things and I think just lurking you can learn much. Hopefully you do not find yourself in the timeout area.
The Official Hive discord is great when you have having troubles doing stuff on Hive, posting or having access issues.. Many smart people hang out there and can get you along you way. They will even give you basic advise on how to start up a Hive witness.
Places like Peace Abundance and Liberty (PAL) used to be very active a few years back, there was a whole roster of Hive users that would do live streams at different times of the day. You could find a show just about every day on there, but now they have closed their doors to such things.
Many other groups exist, so if I forgot to mention any please leave them in the comments. Pick up to five groups.
My goal from this post to find out which groups people find the most useful, spend the most time in and would suggest to others. 5 votes can be cast by each person as I figured some may not have a single choice in these groups. I like many myself.

My first choice will always be 'TheTerminal'. If not for those guys I might not be here on Hive. I made a lot of life long friends there and is one of the only places in my early days to get a lot of answers quickly. Love the Terminal folks!
Ecency, IndiaUnited (not on the list), Dreemport and OCD are the other that I spend most of my time in.
The Terminal is really an essential group to have in this ecosystem.

I voted for theterminal because for me is the most important for the blockchain despite of some other ones there in the list that I am always around... I would also like to mention HiveBR discord server which is the main encounter point for Brazilians like me ;)

The Terminalis my top favourite.But, I do think people r more comfortable to ask in their national/local languages. Can't undermine the value of having local support groups. Although others r just the fraction of the professionalism we witnessed in The Terminal.
for sure it is easier when English isn't the first language! I agree with you! and at least local communities from countries are important for that! People feel more comfortable talking in their original language!
HiveBR has been of great importance to Brazilians, servers and local communities are essential to teach and maintain new users until they reach the maturity to navigate alone.

Exactly, I think this first contact is essential and great for those starting out, with that feeling that "you're not alone", you can talk/write and someone will listen!

Usually, I visit Hiveph discord .. from the choices, I'm a silent reader of Hive watcher.😄 It's a great help to a newbie like me.😊

We do help hivers in #pak-help channel daily. Sometimes I have to deal with users who don't know about keys and why not to show them in public groups. It's a rough and tiring work but I love guiding new hivers. :)
It's not a Pakistani exclusive discord. We even do partnerships with others and appoint independent curators based on TOPICS (far beyond scope of supporting only Pakistanis).

Well, I have been participating more in the HiveBR server, where there are many active Brazilians and so we built the community from scratch, we are active and always helping each other, in addition to welcoming whenever a new Brazilian appears in Hive. HiveBR has been my home here.
Ah okay, makes sense. I think many will find their native language easier to communicate in using their own regional servers.
Exactly, it's a way of taking the first steps, I believe that Hive communities that are focused on a country or language are the easiest first contact a new user can have, of course if they are already good at English or Spanish it makes it easier, but for Portuguese or other languages, this first contact with the language is a hand in the wheel to help and facilitate the first steps of a new member.
That is really great, new members need a lot of help so glad y'all can help out those who speak Portuguese.
Discord is something that I have never ventured into because I think it will be time consuming, so I can not vote. The points you made make me want to check it out.
Ah, before Hive I never used discord. But thankful I put much time into it. I think a lot of my success has been from networking on there.

Yeah! It is quite the ecosystem. Start with the terminal and they can always recommend most to check out. Otherwise check out the ones being voted on and if you need help with invites let me know.
There are so many discord servers that I am subscribed to and access because there are so many projects that I follow on Hive as a simple user or as a moderator and curator.
My favorite blockchain-based game is Splinterlands where I am a player but also a curator and so this is the server I access most frequently
I feel ya, most I join are there for support of their dapps.. such as keychain or splinterlands.. I am usually just there for support issues.
I do hang out in the land discussion of Splinterlands though. Since I own land I figure its in my best interest to monitor that section.

To be honest, I mostly engage on Hive rather than on Ecency. I joined the Ecency Discord because it was a requirement for becoming a Guest Curator, hence my vote goes to Ecency. So, I mostly use it for my Ecency curation gig, haha.
