We passed a proposal about 11 months ago to change the End of Season leaderboard prizes to Rebellion packs. At that point the team shelved the proposal as they preferred to rework the entire leaderboard system and some significant changes have already occurred, such as moving leaderboards to only Champ.
I am currently running a separate poll related to the teams working idea on how to redo leaderboard prizes here. This seems like a good time to also revisit the topic of how or if the community wants to change the leaderboard prizes from DEC to something else. Please vote on if you'd prefer one of the following options or feel free to share your suggestions below.
I would like the proposal already passed to be implemented. I don't see how that is an issue to implement, it would save us on DEC emissions, and it would not require any real change to behavior.
In this case, I think this is just the team trying to find a new solution where the old one was fine - with a minor adjustment to achieve the objective of eliminating DEC emissions.
If there's a valid reason for why the old proposal isn't implemented, then of course I'd listen. But as you can see there will be resistance to most any changes, therefore isn't something "not perfect" better than nothing at all?
This is a difficult one for me to vote. Leaderboards should have prizes and they should be monetary, not just Glint. However, they certainly need to change. I'm not against scholars but I'm against the same person using multiple accounts to reach very high ratings and those accounts won't face each other. In the end, we have the best players, using the accounts with the most assets, and those accounts don't compete between themselves so they get several of the top spots. Meanwhile, since those accounts can't face each other, they tend to play against lower rating players, increasing the gap.
Is there a way to solve this? Maybe but it's not easy. However, the leaderboards part could be fixed with a tournament that is played in a similar way to the 6-year anniversary tournament where you needed to be KYCed and only the owner of the account could play. But Mr. 20M SPS doesn't want a tournament so I guess that is out of the question.
We also had a questionnaire asking for our opinions on the leaderboard prizes and if the payout positions should be extended. What happened to that? At least, if the same amount of DEC was given out but the prizes were more distributed to more players, there would be less amounts of DEC going to the same few people.

Non-transferable achievements could be fun too... but I look forward to my DEC.
I am not opposed to changes, but I feel there aren't convincing options presented.

We should be offloading the DAO's packs at the original sale prices in amounts equivalent to the DEC being given out. This gets rid of packs at much more favorable rates and cuts DEC inflation.

I think Packs would be great - reduces DEC inflation... but it is pretty tied with the DEC Awards though...
I just vote for whatever someone with 43 million SPS votes for, because what's the point in voting against that? haha.
Very simple, eliminate dec leaderboard rewards and institute an end of season glint multiplier based on finishing position based on leaderboard standings.
I'd love to see leaderboards for all leagues brought back. Might bring some of the players back too.
Remove DEC rewards from LB, replace with REB packs
Give packs for top 100 players from DAO horde
Give glint for players 101-250
DONE.
