Urbex - Abandoned sheep and goat farm. // Urbex - Granja de ovinos y caprinos abandonada.

Creo que esta es la ultima parada de mi exploración por el recinto universitario abandonado, pues es el ultimo sitio de interés que se ve en abandono total, aun esta la infraestructura y se ven los animales al final de la montaña de manera libre, estos mismos animales son los que utilizaban en esta granja.
La estación de ovinos y caprinos comprendía 42 hectáreas de la universidad, aquí habían animales de raza para el estudio de su genética y producción animal, aquí se impartían materias como zootecnia y también se aplicaba conceptos sobre el forraje (plantas para alimentar animales de manera de mejorar su crecimiento y engorde). Tengo entendido que también había una pequeña estación de porcinos y había un estudio de clonación en vacas, donde se tenia una vaca de raza Holstein.

I think this is the last stop of my exploration of the abandoned university campus, because it is the last site of interest that is in total abandonment, even this infrastructure and the animals are seen at the end of the mountain freely, these same animals are the ones used in this farm.
The sheep and goat station comprised 42 hectares of the university, here there were breed animals for the study of their genetics and animal production, here they taught subjects such as zootechnics and also applied concepts about forage (plants to feed animals in order to improve their growth and fattening). I understand that there was also a small swine station and there was a study of cloning in cows, where they had a Holstein cow.

Para mantener estos animales se tenia un estanque australiano de 10mil litros de agua, esta completamente sin funcionar pero al parecer con unas pocas reparaciones podría volver a la normalidad. En lo mas alto de la colina esta la oficina donde se llevaba el control de los animales, el control sobre las razas y al cantidad, para el caso de los ovinos habían razas como Dorset, West African, Barbados Barriga Negra, Persa Cabeza negra, y sus mestizos.
Y para el caso de los caprinos Canarios puros y de alto mestizaje, mestizos de Alpino y Saanen, en total habían mas de 200 ejemplares.

To keep these animals there was an Australian pond of 10,000 liters of water, it is completely out of order but it seems that with a few repairs it could return to normal. At the top of the hill is the office where the control of the animals, the control over the breeds and the quantity, for the case of sheep there were breeds such as Dorset, West African, Barbados Black Belly, Persian Black Head, and their mongrels.
And in the case of goats, there were pure and highly crossbred Canary Islanders, Alpine and Saanen crossbreeds, in total there were more than 200 specimens.

La estación de crías caprinas y ovinas esta desmantelada por completo, solo están en pie las columnas de bloque, pero el resto de materiales se los llevaron, aun están las maquinas procesadoras de alimento que procesaban los pastos que consumían estos animales. De igual manera la pequeña estación de porcinos esta en las mismas condiciones, no hay rastro de nada.

The goat and sheep breeding station has been completely dismantled; only the block columns are still standing, but the rest of the materials were taken away; the feed processing machines that processed the pasture that these animals consumed are still there. Likewise, the small pig station is in the same condition, there is no trace of anything.

Y bajando por la misma colina se ve la estación de ganado vacuno, es impresionante por lo grande que es, a pesar que no se tenían muchos ejemplares aquí, en las oficinas hay papeles sobre los resultados de clonaciones y estudios por el profesor encargado. Los animales de aquí, fueron robados por personas de la zona que viven en las afueras del recinto universitario, incluyendo la vaca holstein, pero según la historia el profesor junto con autoridades policiales pudo recuperar la vaca.

And down the same hill you see the cattle station, it is impressive for how big it is, even though there were not many animals here, in the offices there are papers about the results of cloning and studies by the professor in charge. The animals here were stolen by local people who live on the outskirts of the campus, including the holstein cow, but according to the story the professor together with police authorities was able to recover the cow.

Hay otras estructuras que se utilizaban de almacén y están en las mismas condiciones, al fondo de la colina se observan algunas cabras.

There are other structures that were used for storage and are in the same condition, and at the bottom of the hill there are some goats.

Caminando hacia lo mas alto de esta colina se encuentra un camino hacia CenecoAgro (Centro Demostrativo de Tecnologías Agroecológica para el Semiárido), aquí se realizaban practicas guiadas por profesores de la universidad para demostraciones del semi árido, es decir plantas que crecían en esta zona, el clima, los suelos todo lo referente al semi árido, impartida en diferentes materias por ejemplo en mi caso Elementos del Ecosistema, también de aquí se sacaban las plantas que comían los animales de las granjas.

Walking to the top of this hill there is a path to CenecoAgro (Centro Demostrativo de Tecnologías Agroecológica para el Semiárido), here there were practices guided by university professors for demonstrations of the semi-arid, ie plants that grew in this area, climate, soils, everything related to the semi-arid, taught in different subjects for example in my case Ecosystem Elements, also from here were taken the plants that ate the animals of the farms.

Tanto CenenoAgro como la estación de animales constituían una importante parte de las practicas de campo que impartía la universidad, ya que aquí no tenían la necesidad de visitar granjas aliadas ni parques nacionales para impartir las clases, sin embargo ahora estamos en la necesidad de hacerlo pues estas instalaciones están completamente abandonadas y veo muy lejos su recuperación.
Probablemente este sea mi ultimo post sobre el recinto, espero que no, pero de todas formas nos vemos en la próxima.

Both CenenoAgro and the animal station were an important part of the field practices taught by the university, since here they did not need to visit allied farms or national parks to teach the classes, however now we are in the need to do so because these facilities are completely abandoned and I see far away its recovery.
This is probably my last post about the campus, I hope not, but anyway I will see you in the next one.
