Abandoned Church

IMG_8181.jpg

One of the oldest churches in the Samara region is located in the village of Troitskoye, Syzran district of the Samara region. The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Built around 1720-1730. Like many religious buildings, it was closed during the Soviet era and gradually fell into disrepair. As a result, only part of the building remained. The rest has already been destroyed. Nothing has been preserved inside, only broken bricks and bird droppings. There are no plans to restore the church, and most likely the ruins will soon deteriorate even more...

You can see an abandoned church building, the rest of the building looks still sturdy. The brick laying looks orderly. Thank you.greetings.

They say that during the revolution in 1917, many churches could not be blown up, even using a large amount of explosives. They used to build conscientiously - for example, brickwork one meter wide is quite common. Of course, time takes its toll. Over the hundred years that the building has been abandoned, its condition has worsened. But it seems to me that if you take a modern building and place it in similar conditions, it will not withstand so much.

Thank you for the complete explanation and information. Happy days.
