RE: The struggles of living with a sexual identity that isn't mainstream

Many people underestimate the legal implications that exist between same-sex couples, transgender people and many others within the LGBTQ+ community because they are not experiencing these situations, may not have anyone around to guide them either, and are unwilling to educate themselves on the subject... in the end, it all comes down to a lack of willingness to understand.

I do not judge those who hide, because I know that there are societies where hiding is an action that protects lives, even if deep down you are giving up a part of it. But this is why it is important to keep fighting for everyone to have at least the same possibility to be brave without having to fear adverse consequences against their physical integrity.

Of course, those that hide can't be blamed. It is in society's nature to judge people and to not accept what they consider different. Perhaps things may be different in the not too distant future, but for now, we can only hope.
