For you to be accepted in a community, you need to live in accordance to norm/ law of such community. If you feel different and not accepted, then i believe it wouldn't be a crime to move to an environment where you would be accepted or you blend in.
There is a saying 'If you cannot beat them, join them'.

You're right. Laws exist for a reason and laws vary in different countries. If the law of a certain places isn't so convenient for your sexuality then it will be suggested to move to places that will accept you so you wouldn't be opposing any law.
