Makeup Practice #4 [SPA/ENG]

Hola, les deseo un excelente día. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi más reciente practica de maquillaje y sé que ha pasado mucho tiempo desde la última que subí. En esta oportunidad admito que me emocioné un poco, tal vez demasiado porque la temática que se me ocurrió me encanta y siento que logré obtener un muy buen resultado.

Hi, I hope you are having a great day. Today I want to share with you my most recent makeup practice and I know it's been a lot of time since the last one I uploaded. This time I admit that I got a little bit excited, maybe too excited because I love the theme I came up with and I feel that I managed to get a very good result.

Hace unos meses compré una caja de Froot Loops, uno de mis cereales favoritos. Había pasado un montón de tiempo desde la última vez que lo comí por lo que al llegar a casa, guardé las compras de ese día y luego fui a preparar leche. El caso es que una vez servido, lo probé y sabía súper mal, revisé la caja para ver la fecha de vencimiento y efectivamente... Estaba vencido, sabía a cartón. Al principio estaba molesta y decepcionada pero unos minutos más tarde se me ocurrió una idea... Ya que estaban vencidos y la tienda en la que lo compré está muy lejos de mi casa, me pareció genial reciclarlos.

A few months ago I bought a box of Froot Loops, one of my favorite cereals. It had been a long time since I last ate it so when I got home, I put away that day's purchases and then went to make milk. The thing is that once served, I tasted it and it tasted super bad, I checked the box to see the expiration date and sure enough? It was expired, it tasted like cardboard. At first I was upset and disappointed but a few minutes later I had an idea... Since they were expired and the store where I bought them is far away from my house, I thought it was great to recycle them.

Por lo que luego de muchas pruebas e investigaciones, finalmente logré hacer este maquillaje. El cual ha sido uno de mis favoritos, además fue una experiencia muy interesante y algo frustrante, he de admitir. Yo he querido comprar pintura corporal desde hace muchísimo tiempo pero no encontraba en mi ciudad, hace unos meses mi prima encontró una tienda online nueva en la que las venden. En ese preciso momento no tenía dinero para este tipo de cosas, transcurridos unos dos meses, por fin estaba cerca de comprar la paleta de body paint que quería... Sin embargo, su precio aumentó significativamente y comprarla dejo de ser una opción, al menos esa paleta en específico.

So after a lot of testing and research, I finally managed to make this makeup. Which has been one of my favorites, plus it was a very interesting and somewhat frustrating experience, I have to admit. I have wanted to buy body paint for a long time but I couldn't find it in my city, a few months ago my cousin found a new online store where they sell them. At that precise moment I didn't have money for this kind of things, after about two months, I was finally close to buying the body paint palette I wanted... However, its price increased significantly and buying it was no longer an option, at least that specific palette.

Así que me resigné por el momento y en cambio, volví a la búsqueda de formas caseras de hacer pintura corporal, para ser sincera fue algo un tanto monótono porque la mayoría de los tutoriales son prácticamente iguales. Era algo que no me terminaba de convencer del todo pero de igual manera decidí probar la receta que muchos compartían, conseguí todos los materiales necesarios y procedí a realizar la preparación... Seguí la receta muy bien pero no daba con la consistencia adecuada, así que probé varias cosas que se me ocurrieron y finalmente obtuve una mezcla que podía utilizar.

So I resigned myself for the moment and instead, I went back to searching for homemade ways to make body paint, to be honest it was a bit monotonous because most of the tutorials are pretty much the same. It was something that did not quite convince me but I decided to try the recipe that many shared, I got all the necessary materials and proceeded to make the preparation... I followed the recipe very well but I couldn't find the right consistency, so I tried several things that came to my mind and finally I got a mixture that I could use.

Cuando hice las pruebas de la mezcla, utilicé mi brazo como lienzo y no fue tan complicada la aplicación del producto pero en el rostro fue una historia totalmente diferente... Es muy díficil de aplicar y la mezcla no actúa igual. Pasaron varios días y fui adelantando los otros elementos del maquillaje, mientras intentaba dar con una opción más manejable pero hasta el momento no he encontrado una. Ya tenía casi todo lo que necesitaba y mi ganas por probar esta idea se volvieron incontenibles, así que lo probé con la mezcla que es díficil de aplicar.

When I tested the mixture, I used my arm as a canvas and it was not so complicated to apply the product but on the face it was a totally different story... It's very difficult to apply and the blend doesn't work the same. Several days went by and I went ahead with the other elements of the makeup, while trying to come up with a more manageable option but so far I haven't found one. I already had almost everything I needed and my desire to try this idea became unstoppable, so I tried it with the mixture that is difficult to apply.

No se las recomiendo pero igual les diré como la hice, para que sepan. No sé si sea por las marcas que utilicé pero bueno no quedó como debía. Yo usé 2 cucharadas de maicena, 2 cucharadas y media de crema para pañalitis y una cucharada de aceite para bebés. Tomé un vaso de plástico con tapa, agregué los ingredientes y mezclé hasta integrar todo muy bien.

I don't recommend it but I'll still tell you how I did it, just so you know. I don't know if it's because of the brands I used but it didn't turn out the way it should. I used 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, 2 and a half tablespoons of diaper rash cream and a tablespoon of baby oil. I took a plastic cup with a lid, added the ingredients and mixed until everything was well integrated.

Volviendo al cereal, tomé un pincel y pega blanca para cubrir unos cuantos Froot Loops. Fue extremadamente fácil de hacer y el acabado me encantó, se ven ligeramente brillantes, da la sensación de que están mojados lo cual le aporta realismo a la idea del tazón de cereal derramado. Los dejé secar perfectamente, después tomé la parte plástica de un bombillo, agarré dos barritas pequeñas de plastilina blanca, las uni, empecé a darles forma y agregué los Froot Loops, como se muestra en el vídeo.

Back to the cereal, I took a paintbrush and white glue to cover a few Froot Loops. It was extremely easy to do and I loved the finish, they look slightly shiny, it gives the feeling that they are wet which adds realism to the idea of the bowl of spilled cereal. I let them dry perfectly, then I took the plastic part of a light bulb, grabbed two small sticks of white plasticine, joined them together, started shaping them and added the Froot Loops, as shown in the video.

En este punto, ya pueden pegar el tazón de cereal a la base que deseen. Hago mención porque como verán, yo lo hice después. Luego dejé a un lado todo, limpié mi piel y empecé a maquillarme. Algo muy importante, la pintura solo funciona si la aplicas directamente a la piel, es decir, sin nada de maquillaje debajo porque se mezclan los productos y no se adhiere correctamente.

At this point, you can glue the cereal bowl to the base of your choice. I mention this because as you will see, I did it later. Then I put everything aside, cleaned my skin and started putting on my makeup. Something very important, the paint only works if you apply it directly to the skin, that is, without any makeup underneath because it mixes the products and does not adhere properly.

Yo imaginé que podía llegar a pasar pero no estaba segura y lo probé de igual manera para asegurarme. Apliqué corrector y polvo en todo el rostro, intenté aplicar la pintura. Ocurrió los que les mencioné arriba, por lo que opté por desmaquillar la mitad de mi rostro y aplicar nuevamente la pintura. Haciéndolo de esta manera funciona pero no deja de ser complicado, yo estaba muy comprometida con esto por eso seguí hasta el final, siempre tratando de obtener el mejor resultado posible, dentro de las circunstancias claro está. Una de las cosas que noté fue que la pintura se adhiere mejor si la aplicas de manera horizontal y justo la orientación de mi diseño es vertical, lo sé... Es muy irónico.

I figured it could happen but I wasn't sure and tried it anyway to make sure. I applied concealer and powder all over my face, tried to apply the paint. What I mentioned above happened, so I opted to remove makeup from half of my face and reapply the paint. Doing it this way works but it is still complicated, I was very committed to this so I kept going until the end, always trying to get the best possible result, within the circumstances of course. One of the things I noticed was that the paint adheres better if you apply it horizontally and just the orientation of my design is vertical, I know... It's very ironic.

Una vez logré aplicar la pintura, tomé un poco de maicena con mi dedo anular para así sellar el producto. Seguido a esto, tomé una brocha limpia y retiré el exceso de maicena.

Once I managed to apply the paint, I took some cornstarch with my ring finger to seal the product. After that, I took a clean brush and removed the excess cornstarch.

Después apliqué sombra roja en mi párpado inferior, definí la forma de mis cejas con un lápiz negro y peine mis cejas.

I then applied red shadow on my lower eyelid, defined the shape of my eyebrows with a black pencil and combed my eyebrows.

Apliqué lápiz labial rojo cereza en el centro de mis labios, difuminé con un hisopo y finalmente usé un hidratante para labios.

I applied cherry red lipstick in the center of my lips, smudged with a cotton swab and finally used a lip moisturizer.

Tomé un cintillo negro, una pistola de silicón y el tazón de cereal derramado. Coloqué una cantidad generosa de silicón caliente en el tazón, pegué el cintillo y lo dejé secar.

I took a black headband, a silicone gun and the bowl of spilled cereal. I placed a generous amount of hot silicone on the bowl, stuck the headband on and let it dry.

Para terminar, usé silicón líquido para pegar los Froot Loops y no se asusten, no ocurre ningún tipo de reacción adversa al hacer esto y es debido a la densidad de la pintura, que evita el contacto de la piel y el silicón.

To finish, I used liquid silicone to glue the Froot Loops on and don't panic, no adverse reaction occurs when doing this and it is due to the density of the paint, which prevents skin and silicone contact.

Esta fue mi experiencia con este maquillaje, fue algo larga y tuvo unas cuantas complicaciones pero amé el resultado. Lo malo fue que no duró mucho porque la pintura se empezó a cuartear después de una rato pero la fotos me encantaron y pese a los contras, obtuve un resultado muy lindo desde mi punto de visto. Lo que me gusta de mis prácticas es justamente eso, que son prácticas que entre errores y aciertos, poco a poco me permiten ir aprendiendo. Siento que es una buena manera de invertir el tiempo, es muy interesante y cuando logró hacer algo me siento extremadamente feliz.

This was my experience with this makeup, it was a bit long and had a few complications but I loved the result. The bad thing was that it didn't last long because the paint started to crack after a while but I loved the pictures and despite the cons, I got a very nice result from my point of view. What I like about my practices is just that, they are practices that between mistakes and successes, little by little allow me to learn. I feel it's a good way to invest my time, it's very interesting and when I manage to do something I feel extremely happy.

Este es un arte que me encanta y quiero hacer todo lo posible por seguir aprendiendo, no me rendiré con el tema de la paletas profesionales. Creo que el maquillaje artístico, es una practica en la que me desenvuelvo bastante bien aún cuando no cuento con los materiales más cómodos y fáciles de utilizar. Siempre encuentro la manera de adaptar lo que tengo y de vez en cuando logró hacer alguna de las ideas que se me ocurren.

This is an art that I love and I want to do everything I can to keep learning, I will not give up on professional palettes. I believe that makeup artistry is a practice in which I do quite well even when I don't have the most comfortable and easy to use materials. I always find a way to adapt what I have and from time to time I manage to do some of the ideas I come up with.

Yo espero de todo corazón que les haya gustado, mi intención al hacer este tipo de contenido es tener un registro de mi proceso de aprendizaje y a su vez, mostrarles que con poco se puede hacer mucho si somos persistentes. Porque más hace el que quiere, que le que puede y mis creaciones la mayoría del tiempo, son prueba de ello o eso creo.
