Competition Of Showing Off

Today's world is full of competition and people are mostly found attention seeker. Some people seems busy in doing their publicity. Why today I'm writing on this topic? Today when I go out, I found people purchased bull, goat and other animal fot Qurbani.

Well, are you familiar with the word Qurbani? It means sacrifice. Muslims knows well about it because as Muslim we celebrate Eid-ul-adha and we sacrifice our favourite animal sake of Almighty. We sacrifice the life of domestic animal we love and distribute meat among poor people.

Today when I go out I saw rich people bought the biggest animal from the market, taking selfies with it and showing others how big the animal is. Some were asked how much the animal is, owner of animal reply very proudly the price he paid for the animal.

How this could be sacrifice? The animal was bought and they don't even have attachment with it. Who is giving the real sacrifice? Paying a big amount for a animal, does it call sacrifice? Yes, it could be sacrifice of money that also make you famous for having a animal to show off others that you have ability to buy a big animal for qurbani or sacrifice.

I found no sacrifice here. We have changed the definition and significance of religious views. We can't even see that where we are wrong! Qurbani or this kind of sacrifice only valid for those who can afford it but many people sake of showing off buy biggest animal even they might can't afford it. Like a landlord pressurize his renters to pay rent earlier because he will buy a big cow to show off the world that he is capable but those renters may have several problems in life and can't pay on time. So pressurizing other for money and buy animal with the money, does it call sacrifice? When a consideration could be sacrifice.

This showing off doesn’t end here. After processing meats from the animal when its turn for distribution, some seems busy in overloading their fridge with that meat instead distributing it among poor people. Does this consider as sacrifice? Saddest part of this qurbani is, showing off is priority but the priority should be the satisfaction of Almighty and feeding poor because you are capable enough to do this kind of sacrifice. In my life I've seen such showing off many times and some incidents remind me those days one more time.

Anyway, hope this bitter truth won't hurt anyone. This world not give priorities to show off and compete each other almost everyday. We can't make them stop but we atleast can show them mirror, with the hope if it works!
