How I Cope with Anxiety

Anxiety can feel overwhelming most times, I have been a victim of this experience severally times on differing occasions. Sometimes it can be so overwhelming that some people think of committing suicide, or have difficulty carrying out their activities perfectly, this is one of the worst prayer i can ever pray on my enemy or someone.

One major phenomena anxiety causes to people is fear, which mayblead to mental health conditions that can cause phobia, regular nervousness or loss of focus. My personal experience with anxiety that almost broke me down was when i had an accident that almost loss my life, it was like i saw death face to face, this traumatic experience triggered anxiety disorder in me that i kept on thinking about this experience for days, month and the fear was strong then.

Another experience i had with anxiety is when i broke up with my ex that took me time to stop thinking about this experience, this experience made me understand mental problem was real, it felt far worse than having a headache, trying to get over this same experience but it kept on repeating itself and all i have to do is to muscle through the pain and endure myself till i get over it. Several other experiences that words can’t even describe how i feel at this moment.

There are some effective startegies that helped me to manage my anxiety problems

  • Regular Exercises: Most times i feel the feelings of anxiety comes to the mind when we are to comfortable and not muscling through the pain. This is one of my major coping mechanisms of how i survival mental problem or experience i make sure to excersise and sweat out all the pain till when my muscles feels so weak and i just sleep. I also engage in playing sports like basketball with friends and everyone around.

  • Talk to a Friend: This is one way i tend to overcome every or challenges around me, I always share my burden with people around and see if i can get any good advice or support from any of them. Having a good friend really helps us grow faster and uploft our spirit mind through words of encouragement and good advices.

  • Alcohol: To be honest, i know this might sound weird but alcohol has really helped in some nights when the thoughts are overwhelming. Although alcohol does not clear the thoughts completely but it helps relax the mind and body and makes me sleep when this thoughts that lead to anxiety disorders are overwhelming. Although according to research, alcohol increases anxiety level but to me so far it has helped me clear my mind and reduce this anxiety but not clear it completely.

  • Watching Movies and Listening to Musics: Music has a positive effect on an individual when it comes to mental disorder or having problems to settle down the mind, i listen to travis scott or orher types of artist to uplift my spirit and feel active. Movies also plays a vital role on escaping anxiety. Although this two might not be a permanent sure to anxiety but it can help shape the mind to act right and positively when it comes to Traumatic experience.
