Self respect or what ?

You must read this if you have a teenager living in your home or around you.

I have seen children nowadays who expect adults to ask for respect instead of giving it to them and think that speaking up against them will increase their respect. If I talk about my younger sister, she also always fights and arguments with the elders and I find it very annoying when she argues with elders without any reason.

Suppose you don't answer someone's wrong words to you once. In that case, I know everyone thinks that it's wrong we shouldn't have to bear wrong things against us but if your parents, elder sibling, aunt, uncle, grandma, or grandpa is stopping you from doing something and telling you the difference between what's wrong and right you shouldn't speak against them your respect will remain the same. What benefit do you get by insulting someone older than you?

If you tell them to stop interfering in your life because it is your life, not theirs, or if it becomes a matter of your self-respect then please get out of the world of illusion.

Self-respect is found even in small things. For example, if you bump into someone on the road, apologize to him, this will create respect for you in his heart. If you do the opposite thing and instead of apologizing to him, you will leave like a stranger, then he will continue to insult you for many days even if you were a stranger. We have to apologize for our mistakes and that's how people judge us "by watching our actions and reactions"

Disagreeing with someone and disrespecting them are different things. We never realize that we are hurting someone with our words until the same thing happens to us.

When you talk like this to any of your family members, conflicts will become the cause of quarrels. Respect your elders. Respect them. I know this is a basic thing that we all know but many times we are unaware of some act of us even after knowing everything. For which we only need a reminder that brings our conscience back to life.

Don't create boundaries in your own family but be the reason for others' happiness. Self-respect cannot be earned by fighting; people will give it to you based on your actions and reactions.

Always remember that stubbornness will earn you nothing but dishonor in the world. No one is guided in an instant Change begins with realization, the journey is long and patience is lifelong. We may not try, but in our hearts, we must have a desire to improve ourselves. Instead of wishing, bring the spirit of hard work within you and you can be the change you want to see in the world.
