Resentment: My unforgotten story

Resentment have been a situation where majority of us have experience it in one way or the other which sometimes happens unexpectedly from people you believe wouldn't hurt your feelings. I was once in this situation before which wasn't easy for me to let go with the resentment experienced but since I believe in a better turnaround I had no choice but to move on.

I will like to share a story concerning my first girlfriend which happens to be my first love as well. we were both good to each other and probably I would say there was love between us then that we share. She is someone that is respectful, kind, jovial and doesn't take things for granted.

These qualities really made me like her more. The first day I met her was in a company where I had a friend who works there and she came that very day to apply for a job in that same company. My friend happens to be the manager of the place and from the way she approach us that very day I felt something different in me that made me more attracted to her.

I never said anything about the feelings but only asked my friend to employ her that she would be a very good employee for the job with her manner of approach and sincerity. I was still in the higher institution then schooling, so I was not working but was staying with my friend who happen to be the manager of that place.

During weekends sometimes, my friend and I do hang out to chill to enjoy the weekend which was fun. Then there was this very weekend I asked my friend to tell my girlfriend to join us that weekend so we could chill. At first she didn't agree but later accepted the invitation to come.

She eventually came that day and I spoke my mind to her and still let her know am not working for now but still schooling and she said she doesn't have an issue with that but the only thing she is after is my love, which sounds so sweet and romantic lol.

The relationship was going pretty well for like 3years until she started to give me attitude and this attitude looks so suspicious that you would probably think she is seeing someone else. At first she was saying it indirectly to me but was using her actions to let me know something was fishing.

Then there was this particular day I had nothing with me and it was on a weekend, so I had to go and visit her. I had issue with my phone so I wasn't able to call her and the only way to reach her was to go to her place. When I got there she wasn't around so I had to wait nearby until she came back.

After waiting for a while, she eventually came and was surprise to see me but still didn't say anything. We both went in and I noticed she prepared something for herself to eat and since I was feeling very hungry, I decided to serve myself from the food she prepared.

The next thing I heard was what I will never forget so soon because I didn't expect she would utter such statement to me after sharing the few years together. She told me am not her type and she hate broke guys because they irritate her a lot and this still sounds like a movie set to me because I didn't expect such words from her.

She said I shouldn't touch her food that I wasn't the person who gave her the money to prepare it. All this sounds so strange and with her actions I could tell she has found someone else. I didn't want to create any scene but was shocked with the insult and behavior she displayed that made me to have a rethink of my life to move ahead.

These words touched me a lot because I received the insult of my life where she even adviced me that if I want a woman in my life I should make money first. I kept those words to myself but never created a scene but to move on with my life hoping there would be change someday.
