Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.
In this post, I will share my battle where Gargoya Lion played an important role due to one of his abilities.
Gargoya Lion
Gargoya Lion is a Normal reward card for Neutral elements. Gargoya Lion is one of CHAOS LEGION's first Edition reward cards. This Edition Reward Card is not yet SOULBOUND so when we get it when we win the battle, we can directly sell it to the third-party market.
In the early levels, Gargoya Lion has overall stats that are less interesting except for his FLYING ability. How uninteresting, with 6 points of Mana, we only get 1 Attack power and 1 SPEED. As for the ARMOR, we only get 2 ARMOR. And for health points, having only 6 points makes him worse than Xenith Monk who has the same Health Points but has a high SPEED and Mana of 4 points.
At level 5, Gargoya Lion gets an additional ability in the form of VOID , VOID is an ability that will be useful for reducing the impact of damage due to attacks from magic monsters. Unfortunately, even though he has received additional abilities, Gargoya Lion is still not interesting for me (and maybe for most players) because his overall stats only increase by 1 point except Health.
His last ability (ENRAGE ) he only got when he was at level 9. ENRAGE is an ability that can provide additional Attack Power and SPEED by 1.5 times when his Health Point is less than 100%. ENRAGE ability is a savior for Gargoya Lion because, with this ability, his attack power can compete with monsters that have the same Mana points as him. At level 9, all his stats increase by 1 point except Health. Only at level 10, Gargoya Lion receive an additional 1 health point.
This time, I will share my battles using Gargoya Lion where he is accommodating to defeat the opponent quickly using one of his abilities.
Battle
The ruleset for this battle is EQUALIZER (The health points of all monsters in the battle arena are equalized with the monster that has the most health points), ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? (In this ruleset, both sides are allowed to use 1 Gladius Card), and EARTHQUAKE (Monsters that do not have the FLYING ability will take 2 points of damage at the end of each round)
The reason I'm using Gargoya Lion in this battle is because the only available element is Earth. As we already know, Earth Element specializes in Magic. Therefore, I want to utilize the VOID ability of Gargoya Lion to reduce the attack of the Magic monster that the opponent will bring in this battle.
I also decided to bring Halaran Huntress into the battle arena because she also has the FLYING ability as well as the CHARGE ability which allows her to attack at any position. Meanwhile, the reason I'm using Acid Shooter is to give a poison effect to the targets that will be targeted later.
In the first round, Quora Towershead attacked Gargoya Lion first and put him into RAGE mode. Gargoya Lion and Halaran Huntress attacked Chaos Agent. Meanwhile, Acid Shooter attacks your opponent's Fungus Fiend.
At the start of the second round, all monsters in the battle arena were dealt 2 points of damage due to the effects of the EARTHQUAKE Ruleset. However, this takes effect for Gargoya Lion and Halaran Huntress because they have the FLYING ability.
Quora Towershead healed himself and then attacked Gargoya Lion. Gargoya Lion defeats Chaos Agent. Acid Shooter and Halaran Huntress attacked the opponent's Fungus Fiend. But the opponent's Fungus Fiend failed to land its attack on Gargoya Lion.
In the third round, the effect of the EARTHQUAKE Ruleset was activated again. Quora Towershead healed again and attacked Gargoya Lion. Gargoya Lion defeated the opponent's Fungus Fiend. Acid Shooter successfully attacked Quora Towershead but Halaran Huntress's attack failed to hit it.
In the fourth round, Quora Towershead could still survive the attacks of Gargoya Lion, Acid Shooter, and Halaran Huntress thanks to her HEAL ability. But he was defeated in the fifth round by Gargoya Lion.
Battle Review
The opponent was overconfident by using Immortalis as a Summoner. He probably thought I would use Magic monsters because Earth element was the only element available. The opponent also focused their attacks on only 1 monster (Quora Towershead) even though they were fighting in the EQUALIZER ruleset. This made my strategy of spreading the force by using many monsters that had low Mana benefits from having as many Health points as him.
Those are the kinds of things I discussed in this Social Media Challenge. Thank you for reading to the end and see you in other discussions in next week's Social Media Challenge.
