Social Media Challenge || Duo Triage on Earth Element

in 1UPlast month

Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

In this post, I'll share my battles using Mycelic Slipspawn and 2 TRIAGE monsters supporting it.

Mycelic Slipspawn

Even with the title "Duo TRIAGE", without this monster's presence, the battle strategy would be useless. Mycelic Slipspawn. It is a Rare monster for Earth element in the CHAOS LEGION edition.

At early levels, Mycelic Slipspawn has a TAUNT ability that can be used as a time stall before your opponent attacks the actual target. If your opponent uses abilities like SNIPE , SNEAK , or OPPORTUNITY , then the TAUNT ability is useful to force them to attack targets that have abilities. And if you want a monster with this ability to last longer, you need a monster with a healing ability such as TANK HEAL (if the monster's TAUNT is in the first position) or TRIAGE (if the monster's TAUNT is in a position other than first).

At level 4 he gets the FORCEFIELD ability. FORCEFIELD is an ability that reduces damage to only 1 point if you get attacked by monsters that have Attack power above 4 points. In low leagues or when facing low-level opponents, this ability may not be very useful because most monsters have little Attack power. FORCEFIELD will only be useful when facing opponents with maximum levels or fighting in higher leagues such as GOLD and so on.

And at its highest level, Mycelic Slipspawn gets its final ability, SLOW . SLOW will grant a SPEED reduction to all opposing monsters by 1 point.

The ruleset for this battle is REVERSE SPEED (Attack turns are reversed by prioritizing the monster with the least SPEED), MELEE MAYHEM (In this ruleset, Melee monsters can attack from any position), and TARGET PRACTICE (All Magic and Ranged monsters in the arena receive additional abilities in the form of SNIPE )

In the first round, Goblin Psychic, Fungus Flinger, Queen Mycelia, Uloth Dhampir, and Mycelic Slipspawn directed their attacks at Wave Brood. However, Fungus FLinger and Uloth Dhampir were counterattacked through RETURN FIRE by Wave Brood. Queen Mycelia's attack was also neutralized by VOID ability. Meanwhile, Mycelic Infantry attacked Diemonshark.

Diemonshark countered the attack from Mycelic Infantry. Wave Brood, Angelic Mandarin, Deeplurker, and River Hellondale directed their attacks at the Mycelic Slipspawn. Unfortunately, Deeplurker failed to deal major damage to Mycelic Slipspawn due to its FORCEFIELD ability. Meanwhile, Flying Squid fails to deal damage to Mycelic Infantry.

In the second round, Mycelic Slipspawn was healed by Queen Mycelia and Uloth Dhampir. Then they along with Goblin Psychic and Fungus Flinger attacked Wave Brood. Uloth Dhampir also managed to inflict a STUN effect on Wave Brood. Mycelic Infantry attacked Diemonshark again, but this time Diemonshark attacked back using RETALIATE .

Before being hit by STUN, Wave Brood had attacked Mycelic Slipspawn along with Angelic Mandarin, Deeplurker, and River Hellondale. Mycelic Slipspawn was also hit by POISON due to an attack by Deeplurker. Diemonshark attacked Mycelic Infantry again but Flying Squid still failed to land its attack on Mycelic Infantry.

In the third round, Wave Brood was first defeated by Goblin Psychic and Uloth Dhampir but was revived by River Hellondale. The Wave Brood was defeated again and now by the Fungus Flinger. Mycelic Slipspawn attacked River Hellondale but was healed by Angelic Mandarin.

The Mycelic Infantry attacked the Diemonshark and put it in RAGE mode. Despite being in RAGE mode, Diemonshark failed to land an attack on Mycelic Infantry. Similarly, Angelic Mandarin failed to deal damage to Mycelic Slipspawn. Deeplurker and River Hellondale attacked Mycelic Slipspawn while Flying Squid is now successfully dealing damage to Mycelic Infantry.

In the fourth round, River Hellondale was defeated by Goblin Psychic and Queen Mycelia. Angelic Mandarin was also defeated by attacks from Uloth Dhampir, Fungus Flinger, and Mycelic Slipspawn.

Mycelic Infantry attacks Diemonshark, but Diemonshark fails to deal damage to it. Flying Squid and Deeplurker attack their respective targets (Mycelic Infantry and Mycelic Slipspawn)

In the fifth round, Diemonshark was defeated by Goblin Psychic. Queen Mycelia, Uloth Dhampir, and Mycelic Infantry defeated Flying Squid. Fungus Flinger and Mycelic Slipspawn attacked Deeplurker, but Deeplurker failed to land its attack on Mycelic Infantry.

In the last round, Deeplurker was defeated by an attack from Mycelic Infantry.

Battle Review

Mycelic Slipspawn is quite helpful by diverting the attacks of all the opponent's monsters to him. But he can't last long if he doesn't get help from Queen Mycelia and Uloth Dhampir who have the TRIAGE ability. The TRIAGE ability can heal 1/3 of the maximum health of Mycelic Slipspawn.

The opponent has done quite well by using Wave Brood which can withstand attacks from Magic monsters and provide counterattacks if hit by attacks from Ranged monsters. Unfortunately, the opponent lacks monsters that have TRIAGE ability. It only brought 1 monster that has the TRIAGE ability (Angelic Mandarin) and relied more on River Hellondale to resurrect Wave Brood if defeated later. If only the opposing side had also brought 2 monsters that have the TRIAGE ability, perhaps the battle could have lasted longer.

The presence of Fungus Flinger is also very helpful with his BLIND ability. BLIND ability can reduce the accuracy of the opponent's attacks, especially Melee and Ranged monsters. Coupled with the REVERSE SPEED ruleset that favors monsters with low SPEED, some opponent attacks fail to hit Mycelic Infantry.
