(Instead of the Soul Strangler, I've decided to write about Djinn Oshannus. I've been using this card during my Water Focus Dailies with great results!)

Djinns, or Genies (which is the anglicized naming), are powerful mystical beings. In Arabic culture, they're often known as the equivalent of Angels. Of course the most popular one the world knows of is probably Aladdin's Genie of the Lamp 🤣.

Dawn of the Djinn 3 of 4 - The Djinn are angry at the way they were tricked by the Planet, but also appreciative that they can now enjoy this limited freedom, each trapped by natural forces. The Djinn possess powerful ancient magic of their own, which is now charged into the force of one element for each of them. The ancient demons of war are an awkward bunch to be chosen as a planetary defensive force, but they are also impressively capable of the job. As long as they are bound by the Planet, they will do its bidding. Whatever their would-be choices and allegiances, they will fight against the Chaos Legion to protect the sixth mana gate.

Djinn Oshannus is a Legendary REWARD card released BEFORE the Chaos Legion Expansion. It has definitely found it's place in many Water decks given its availability and usefulness. At LEVEL 1, it has 2 ⚔️MAGIC ATTACK⚔️ and 5 🏃🏻SPEED🏃🏻, with 0 🛡️ARMOR🛡️ and 10 ❤️HEALTH❤️. It has the VOID ability at this level. It's summoning cost is an astounding 8 🧪MANA🧪.

Djinn Oshannus is an absolute beast! It boasts good magic damage, has high HP, and is also one of the fastest cards in the game! It's VOID ability also gives it a surprisingly huge advantage against other Magic units too! This could make all the difference if the battle comes down to the wire where the slightest advantage is the fine line between victory or defeat! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The REWARD Edition has given the Water splinter a really unique card in Djinn Oshannus. This is a card that has great attacking power and defensive stats overall. At level 2, it even gains the PHASE ability, allowing it to dodge magic attacks! This turns it into the ultimate anti magic unit and when combined with everything else, makes it one of the strongest cards in the game! 😱💪🏻

This ensures that Djinn Oshannus will definitely have it's own place here in all Water decks. This is definitely what I'd consider game changing! 😱😱😱

As we can see here, the main purpose of Djinn Oshannus is to be a huge Tank capable of handling all situations. As it levels up, it gains PHASE and FORCEFIELD, both of which, add to making it even more unkillable than ever. With it's natural high speed and health, combined with it's strong magic damage, It's hard to see how any single card can stand toe to toe against the mighty Djinn Ohsannus.

Fun fact. Djinn Oshannus was (at one point) going at $200+ for its Gold Foil version and $50 for it's normal version. You can tell how strong and in demand it was based on it's pricing compared to other cards. The price might have come crashing down now in this bear market, but I'm certain this will be one of the most expensive cards in the far future after it goes out of print. 🤑🤑🤑

⚔️🛡My Battle Showcase🛡⚔️

Let me present a battle I fought recently in which I used Djinn Oshannus. Both my opponent and me used the WATER splinters. 💧💧

At first glance, it would seem like my opponent had a HUGE ADVANTAGE over me.

• He was using a level 6 Summoner! Yes, that makes him an entire 3 levels above me! 😱 (note that my Summoner might say level 4, but it's a Common rarity Summoner, which is the equivalent to a level 3 Rare Summoner).

• His cards were appropriately leveled with almost all of them being level 6 Rares.

• Has there ever been such a lopsided matchup? 🤣

Clearly, in terms of card levels, I seemed to be completely outmatched 😜🤣. Would I be able to turn the tide of battle against such an opponent then? Victory or defeat would lie in the small details.

I would say that Djinn Oshannus was DEFINITELY the MVP of this match, having played it's role in turning the tide of battle. It's abilities allowed it to completely TANK/DODGE everything the opponent could throw at it, and with the support given by my healers, the entire team did not suffer a scratch at all!

This ensured that the other units could eventually wear down the opponent until victory was achieved! 🏆🏆🏆

1st CARD SLOT

Djinn Oshannus takes the 1st slot here as the Main Tank. It will be the most important role since the backline will fall if the Main Tank goes.

2nd CARD SLOT

The Magi of Chaos takes up slot number 2. It's role is mainly as DPS and a backup Tank.

3rd CARD SLOT

The Black Dragon occupies this slot in the middle where it'll be well protected. It's role is to DPS, while it's SLOW debuff slows down the opponent's team and improves Djinn Oshannus dodging ability even further.

4th CARD SLOT

The Crustacean King occupies this slot. Just like the Black Dragon before it, being in the middle offers it good protection and it's role is to heal the Tank too.

5th CARD SLOT

The Sea Genie sits near the back, safe from the battle frontlines. It's role is to DPS.

6th CARD SLOT

The Diamond Dragon sits right behind. It's amazing 10 armor combined with it's FLYING ability will offer more than sufficient protection against any SNEAK attacks. It also has the SLOW ability to debuff the opponent and further augment Djinn Oshannus's speed.

As you can see, both of us fielded very Magic centric decks from identical WATER splinters.

💧 WATER 💧 VS 💧 WATER 💧

My opponent used Albatross as his main tank in the 1st slot. Although, given it's low HP, it is probably there as a sacrificial unit. The Angelic Mandarin occupied slot 2 with it's Triage ability being able to heal everyone in the backline. The River Nymph was next in slot 3, where it could Cleanse. The Elven Mystic was in slot 4, with it's SILENCE ability dealing a blow to all my magic wielding units. The Ice Pixie was in slot 5, with it's SHATTER ability potentially removing all my Armour (of which Osha did not use or depend on fortunately 😁). The Venari Spellsmith occupied slot 6, with it's DISPEL ability to remove any buffs on the unit it hits.

My choice of the Main Tank was the Djinn Oshannus with it's VOID and PHASE ability in the first slot, followed by the Magi of Chaos in the second. The 3rd and 4th slots were occupied by my Black Dragon and Crustacean King. The Sea Genie and Diamond Dragon filled up slots 5 and 6.

The battle started out with all our units just duking it out pound for pound. It was quite a high mana game with 44 mana as the limit. The rulesets were Holy Protection and Keep Your Distance.

• The first wave surprisingly ended up with none of my units dying! 😱 In fact, the only casualty was the opponent's Albatross, which was to be expected given that it was a sacrificial unit.

• The second wave saw both teams exchanging fire once again with the opponent's Angelic Mandarin dying this time. Once again, my entire team did not suffer a scratch at all, with Osha either absorbing all the magic damage with his VOID or dodging it entirely with PHASE!

• This is where my team started to get a huge advantage. The 3rd round resulted in the opponent's Elven Mystic and Ice Pixie dying next.

• By now, it was simply a matter of my units eventually taking out everyone. With such a huge advantage, there was no way back as the subsequent mop up of his remaining units was a foregone conclusion at this point.

• It ended up with my entire team, which was amazingly still completely intact, standing victorious over the battlefield! 😱💯 And not only that, the game ended with EVERY SINGLE ONE of my units at FULL HEALTH!

Talk about doing WAY MORE than it was supposed to!!! 😱🤯🥳 All I expected from Djinn Oshannus was for it to tank some damage before it eventually succumbed and fell. Yet, it did more than that, and lasted through the entire battle. It even dealt out a decent amount of damage on it's own through Magic Attacks. The battle ended up being a perfect battle with NONE of my units even dying at all! Surely that made it the Man of the Match for this battle, punching way above it's weight!

Well as you can see here in this GIF of my battle, the results were pretty good! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

This was truly an eye opener! 😁🏆

Slowly, but surely, I wore down the opponent's team and the match was won handily with ALL of my units still left standing. It was a PERFECT VICTORY! My team selection proved to be the edge I needed to eventually overpower my opponent. 💪🏻

Would I have done anything differently? 🤔 This might have seemed like a match that would prove to be a challenge at the start because of the opponent's superior cards as compared to my team. However, with my PERFECT VICTORY with ZERO casualties, IF I had to use the same cards again, there would be no better lineup than what I had already used for the match. Any other combination MIGHT have resulted in a loss for me. I'm really satisfied with the results against such a worthy opponent. 🏆🥇
