Second oil change of my Empire Keeway Owen 150 CC motorcycle (English/Spanish)

A loving greeting to all my Hive friends, it is a pleasure for me to be with you in the great community Hive Motors. As I told you last time, a month ago I acquired a beautiful Empire Keeway Owen 150 CC motorcycle. Since then we haven't stopped riding. This week it was due for its second oil change and I have recorded the process to share it with you.

The first change we did at the beginning of January, when our bike had ridden 227 km. This time we had exceeded 1200 km so it was time for the second change. We arrived at the place and they marked the warranty sheet, with which we keep track of the oil changes that the dealer performs during the warranty period of the engine. They wrote down the mileage which was 1,253 and we proceeded to buy the oil.

The EK CHRONUS 4T lubricant is designed by the Empire Keeway brand especially for its factory engines. With this product they guarantee a good engine condition. The bike requires one liter, so we bought it for only $8.75. In the meantime the bike was getting cold to make the change, as we have to drive 13 kilometers from where we live to the dealership.

While we were waiting we watched them do the swap on another EK Owen, but it was a different model than ours. There were few bikes at the dealership, this is atypical. But it is because the consumption of motorcycles in our country is impressive, not so much because of the motorcycle passion but because it is an economical vehicle and since the crisis in Venezuela, where everything is very expensive and gasoline is scarce, motorcycles became the first choice for ordinary people. And EK's are very accessible and economical.

Rony is the mechanic at the dealership, he is the one who has taken care of us since we bought it. He was checking the engine of another bike while ours was cooling down. Finally it was time to make our change.

Of course the top oil cap was removed beforehand to let the heat out faster. Then it was uncapped at the bottom to let the burnt oil drain out and retained in a disposable plastic container. When all the old oil was drained out, the bottom was closed and with the help of a funnel Rony deposited the new oil in the tank. After putting the cap on, our bike was ready to continue riding.

It is wonderful to be able to pamper our bike and know that with proper maintenance we can enjoy it for a long time. I love to share with you this beautiful experience, I'll be here again soon.

Segundo cambio de aceite de mi motocicleta Empire Keeway Owen de 150 CC (Ingles/Español)

Un saludo amoroso para todos mis amigos de Hive, es un placer para mí estar junto a ustedes en la grandiosa comunidad Hive Motors. Como les comente la última vez, hace un mes adquirí una hermosa motocicleta Empire Keeway Owen de 150 CC. Desde entonces no hemos parado de rodar. Esta semana le tocaba el segundo cambio de aceite y he registrado el proceso para compartirlo con ustedes.

El primer cambio se lo hicimos a inicio de enero, cuando nuestra moto había rodado 227 km. Esta vez habíamos superado los 1200 kilómetros así que le correspondía el segundo cambio. Llegamos al lugar y nos marcaron la hoja de la garantía, con la que llevamos el registro de los cambios de aceite que el concesionario realiza duran el tiempo de garantía del motor. Nos anotaron el kilometraje que era 1.253 y procedimos a comprar el aceite.

El lubricante EK CHRONUS 4T está diseñado por la marca Empire Keeway especialmente para los motores de su fábrica. Con este producto garantizan un buen estado del motor. La moto requiere un litro, así que lo compramos por tan solo 8.75 $. Mientras tanto la moto se estaba enfriando para hacer el cambio, ya que tenemos que conducir 13 kilómetros desde donde vivimos hasta la concesionaria.

Mientras esperábamos vimos cómo le hacían el cambio a otra EK Owen, pero era un modelo diferente a la nuestra. Había pocas motos en la concesionaria, esto es atípico. Pero se debe a que el consumo de motocicletas en nuestro país es impresionante, no tanto por la pasión motocicletica si no porque es un vehículo económico y a partir de la crisis en Venezuela, donde todo es muy costoso y la gasolina es escasa pues las motocicletas se convirtieron en la primera opción para la gente común. Y las EK son muy accesibles e nivel económico.

Rony es el mecánico de la concesionaria, es el que nos ha atendido dese que la compramos. Estuvo revisando el motor de otra moto mientras la nuestra se enfriaba. Finalmente llegó el momento de hacer nuestro cambio.

Por supuesto se retiró el tapón del aceite de arriba desde antes para que el calor saliera más rápido. Después se destapo por abajo para que el aceite quemado saliera y se retuvo en un envase plastico desechable. Cuando termino de escurrirse todo el aceite viejo, se cerró por abajo y con ayuda de un embudo Rony deposito en el tanque el aceite nuevo. Después de ponerle el tapón nuestra moto quedo lista para seguir rodando.

Es maravilloso poder consentir nuestra moto y saber que con el mantenimiento adecuado podremos disfrutar de ella por mucho tiempo. Me encanto compartir con ustedes esta hermosa experiencia, pronto estaré por acá nuevamente.
