Está vez voy a enseñarles como cambiar el sello y mantenimiento de una bomba de agua de 3/4 hp, es un procedimiento sencillo. Si no tenemos las herramientas adecuadas con un poco de ingenio, realizamos el trabajo según los pasos que a continuación les detallo.

This time I am going to show you how to change the seal and maintenance of a 3/4 hp water pump, it is a simple procedure. If we do not have the right tools with a little ingenuity, we perform the work according to the steps that I detail below.

Empecemos buscando una llave de 8 milímetros, sacamos los primeros tres tornillos de la tapa donde encontraremos la propela o impulsor, también conseguimos la ubicación del sello. Procedemos a retirar el impulsor con mucho cuidado de no dañarlo, porque tiende a pegarse mucho por la corrosión del metal, debido al contacto del agua con el pasar del tiempo; en este caso utilizo una navaja por no tener la herramienta adecuada que conocemos como extractor. Damos golpes suaves para ir retirándola poco a poco de la punta de la maza de la bomba, a veces, resulta que queda soldada por mucho óxido y tenemos que echarle un poco de aceite o en su lugar liga de freno, ya retirada la propela procedemos a sacar el sello con una llave pequeña.

Let's start looking for an 8 mm wrench, remove the first three screws of the cover where we will find the impeller or impeller, we also get the location of the seal. We proceed to remove the impeller with great care not to damage it, because it tends to stick much by the corrosion of the metal, due to the contact of the water with the passage of time; in this case I use a knife for not having the right tool that we know as extractor. We give gentle blows to remove it little by little from the tip of the pump hub, sometimes, it is welded by much rust and we have to pour a little oil or instead of brake lime, and removed the propeller we proceed to remove the seal with a small wrench.

Retirado el sello dañado, limpiamos la superficie donde va ubicado, con una lija al igual que la punta de la maza, le pasamos un poco de la lija en forma circular. Al sustituir el sello nuevo le ponemos un poco de grasa, lo colocamos en la punta y con el sello dañado lo introducimos hasta adentro para llevarlo a su posición, luego se le pone la propela sin olvidar la cuña que esta lleva en la punta.

Once the damaged seal is removed, we clean the surface where it is located, with a sandpaper as well as the tip of the hub, we pass a little sandpaper in a circular way. When replacing the new seal we put a little grease, we place it in the tip and with the damaged seal we introduce it all the way inside to take it to its position, then we put the propeller without forgetting the wedge that it has in the tip.

Terminamos limpiando la tapa un poco por la parte de adentro de los bordes y después de hacerle el mantenimiento a la tapa le echamos silicón y procedemos a cerrar, se le vuelve a colocar los tres tornillos de 8 milímetros bien ajustados.

We finish by cleaning the lid a little on the inside of the edges and after doing the maintenance to the lid we put silicone and proceed to close it, we put back the three 8 mm screws well tightened.
