Welcome to the dirt ring 🚦🏁

After getting canceled two weekends in a row due to rain, opening night at I-77 Speedway finally happened. @flowerbaby and I had never been to this racetrack before, despite it being located in Fairplain, WV which is only about 30 minutes from where we live.

I-77 Speedway is a 3/8 mile oval dirt track that hosts a variety of events. The races we attended included super late, ump mods, steel block, sport mods, street stocks, and mini wedges.

In today's video, I will discuss why we decided to finally visit this place and what we thought of it. There is plenty of footage of the races and I will be sure to explain everything that is going on. Most of you are probably new to this kind of thing, I know I am. I am somebody who loves cars quite a bit, but I know little to nothing about this kind of racing. It turned out to be a wonderful first experience.

Visit http://www.i77speedwaywv.com/ for more information about the races at this location.

We loved how the seating was set up, very spacious. We laid a blanket on the grass and got cozy together. You can bring in your own coolers and it only costs $15/person to get in.

I love dirt track. Sounds like a fun night for sure! There are so few of these small tracks left. Someone just re-opened our local track here in Lancaster NY. Hopefully, they'll make a go of it. It's not dirt track though. 1/4 mile drag strip and I'm not sure how big the oval track is. Demolition derby in the middle of the track 🤣 I loved demolition derby when I was kid, still fun to watch! My father used to take me all the time when I was a kid!

Dirt track is like the OG of drift racing! Awesome post!

We have a few small tracks like this. There is a drag strip less than an hour from here. I also just found another oval track, except it is cement instead of dirt. I am definitely going to try to hit that other track soon, the same types of cars. I hate that all of the good autocross tracks are no less than 3-4 hours from us. I want to see cars that I actually recognized going crazy.

I think demolition derby would be so fun to watch, haven't seen it before. I did go to the monster trucks once as a kid. Now that I am thinking of it, dirt bikes and some motorcycle races would be fun too. I love pretty much anything that screams and goes fast, most importantly that requires a lot of skill.

I gotta say that i love the way the chairs are made, just the fact you can see fast cars yet feel connected to nature have a charm of its own :D

I was very surprised by how casual the seating was. We expected nothing but uncomfortable bleachers. Instead, we were greeted with the perfect grass area to lounge in and really get cozy together. The car and nature combo truly was something that made us both happy.

It should be awesome to sit and feel the wind on the face while the dirt race is going, i hope some day i live it myself.

That would have been an epic experience! Definitely looks awesome. In other news, Grand Prix has increased in viewers and attendees due to a Netflix show.

I wonder if the whole car industry and racing will also increase as a whole.

I'm so glad we gave this event a chance. We will be back. I also wish to go to other tracks. I have been wanting to go watch my first autocross event. I've also noticed the racing show on Netflix and it has my interest. Same goes for the Ford vs Ferrari film, I've yet to see that one.

I feel like racing has so much more to often than typical NASCAR that majority of the people I know either love or hate. I will always love anything involving cars, but I have a feeling the rest of the world will also begin to familiarize themselves with the many different types of racing.

Dude I’m so jealous!! I used to go watch dirt track racing when I lived in Oregon, it’s a blast! Glad y’all had a good time.

I can't believe it took me so many years to finally go to something like this. It was such an awesome environment and I expect it to be even better next time when the weather is warmer.

Cool! Those cars growled. and drift machines.. with the dirt track too.. :)

Very loud and highly maneuverable through corners.
Looks fun to do, but I don't think I'll ever be a dirt racer.
