What's up Hivians! Another weird / funny stuff just happened in the crypto space (once again)...

I can't believe what just happened but certainly, NFT has actually changed someone's life just overnight. Yesterday, in a Telegram group chat I'm in, the guys started sharing a collection 'Ghozali Everyday' and we were laughing hard then one person started to go like..

F*ck it, I'm doing this

Then the next one also be like 'Shit, I'm fomo-ing into'... I mean, first thought must be something like 'wtf' but if you think about it, it literally have the ingredients to be a perfect meme of the crypto space or even in general, even.

One dude from Indonesia decided to take a selfie of himself everyday (or close enough) for 5 years straight to make a one single video he's always dream of and turned out, to mint them 933 selfies on Opensea as NFTs during the bull (little bear-ish) but still, got such attention and believe it or not, the collection has already 300ETH trading volume at the time of writing.

I don't really want to go into numbers so deep but just a quick calculation from the royalty fee from his original art (Ahem! Selfie), he's already earned 30ETH which worth $100,000 ish. I know this takes such an effort but still can't think, this is crazy! (in a good way of course!)

Let's analyst this a bit how it's successful and why people tend to like it. Well, TL;DR, it's totally a perfect meme, if you think about it. First of all, photos are never professionally taken or not even an effort to make it look good. How genuine he is, no smile no nothing. It's almost like someone force him to do so but no, he has been doing that himself and been doing it for 5 years straight. That's an effort! Then, the fact that he's brave enough to mint is as NFTs.

Crypto is crazy and that's the charm of it

In real life, you wouldn't spend $5 for this kind of photos but in the crypto space, anything is possible. Insane stuff happens every single day and I think that's why, it keeps us alive excitedly in this space, don't you agree?

Another fun thing to do related to Ghozali Everyday is just to scroll down Twitter feed and browse social media with all the conversation going on. The one I like so much is that, someone has asked the dude if he doesn't have any photos with 'smile' during these 5 years and what he answered was 'well, just emptiness'. It's funny yes, yet adorable!
