Just two days gap between game week 18 and 19. While this is really exciting for us fans, as we get treated to quality football, one can only wonder the effect it will have on the players with just three days rest. The teams with big squad depth begin to flex at this point. Game week 18 results were an absolute shocker as four of the predicted to win "big six" dropped points and league leaders pulled even further away. Let's see what game week 19 holds for us.
Leicester Vs Manchester City
As I write this now the game is currently about to start. City yet again stumbled, dropping two more points in their last outing against Everton. More worries for Pep's team who now sit seventh on the table and fourteen points away from the league leaders, Liverpool. Their hopes of retaining the title looks to be slipping away. It's five hundred games under Pep Guradiola for Manchester City now and they would be hoping to mark the milestone with a win as they travel to the king power stadium to take on Leicester City who continue their relegation battle. One does not know what to expect from city again, but I'd still predict a win for them. 1 - 3.
West Ham Vs Liverpool
The big question now is, can anybody catch up with Liverpool. The reds look like they are on mission, with just one thing on their mind, the title as they completed a dramatic comeback last time out against Leicester to extend their lead at the summit to six point with a game in hand. Four wins in five from their last games in all competition for Arne Slot team, and West Ham are next in line to try to stop them. Hard to see any other outcome but a win for Liverpool. 0 - 2.
Ipswich Vs Chelsea
Concerns are starting to creep up amongst the blue faithfuls as their team dropped points again with a loss at home to Fulham, after taking the lead early on in the game. The blues travel to newly promoted side Ipswich who are right in the thick of the relegation squabble and they would fancy their chances to get back to winning ways. This should be a comfortable win for Enzo Maresca, but in the EPL, you never know. 0 - 3.
Manchester United Vs Newcastle
It's chaos in paradise at Old Trafford, as United suffered yet another defeat this season as they seem to be stuck at fourteenth place, with fears of relegation just looming. The great reds, in a relegation battle, unimaginable. It's now eight loses for United already this season from eighteen games. They welcome Newcastle who are flying, with four wins on the bounce in all competition. Another difficult game for the new Portuguese tactician and with Liverpool and Arsenal ahead. A tight game it would be. 1 - 1.
Brentford Vs Arsenal
Later on Wednesday, Arsenal take on Brentford to mark the last game of the game week. The gunners took all three points last time out, as they scraped a one nil win against Ipswich to move up to second place on the log. That makes it three in three for Arteta as his team look to be finding their feet again. They take on struggling Brentford, who are winless in their last four games in all competition, losing three of those games. While the odds are in Arsenal's favour, they would do well to be weary of Brentfords break. Arsenal to edge this one. 1 - 2.
