150 million for not playing

Today, Neymar Junior made his comeback as a player of Al Hilal in the Asian Champions League against Al Ain. Exactly 12 months and 3 days after his last game with Brasil against Uruguay on October 18th of 2023. In that game he tore his posterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his knee. It took him 12 months to get back fit completely.

This means that Al Hilal paid 150 million EUR in the last 12 months to Neymar for not playing even one minute. Talk about an expensive contract!

Luckily for Al Hilal they won the league, so it wasn’t all wasted.

Let’s hope that Neymar can show his immense talent again for the Saudi club and prove that he’s worth the money…
