The long awaited recruitment could be made as soon as next month (October) with the changing of the former gaffer, coming at a time of rejuvenated optimism following Cristiano Ronaldo's return to England, Old Trafford.

Richard Arnold, currently the club's group managing director, is reported to have been one of the first in line, with at least two other United executives for the job. A position envyed and seen as one of the most powerful jobs in English football.

The withdrawal of the six big premier league teams from the proposed European Super league sparked up controversy among the fans, along with the 790£m debt funded takeover of the club by the glazers in 2005.

Despite the family flaunting the company on the new York stock exchange in 2012,they still made sure they retained absolute control of the club through a separate private share system, and this has sparked continued controversy among the fans who now think the club is run on a system of dictatorship.
