Mesult's idol
Ozil named former Nigerian footballer Jay Jay Okocha as his idol, the former super eagle's player spent two years at the Turkish club(fenerbahce) scoring thirty four goals in sixty two games for the club. The German playmaker disclosed that he used to have Okocha’s No.10 jersey of Fenerbahce while growing up. Okocha had the number 10 shirt during his stay at the club, remains a clut hero thereafter scoring 34 times in 62 games. Okocha joined the Turkish club in the year 1996 from Eintracht Frankfurt for about £1 million and following his success with Fenerbahce, PSG paid £14 million- an African record fee at that time- for his services .
The ex Nigerian player also played for Bolton Wanderers, Hull City and Qatar SC before hanging his boots (retirement) in year 2008.
During the 'Question and Answer session' with Ozil, a fan asked:
"What name and number were written behind the fb shirt you wore when you were younger?"
Ozil replied:
"Number 10 and Jay Jay Okocha."
This alone caused excitement in my country Nigeria, knowing that one of my ex player is role model to a big name like Mesult Ozil gives me goosebumps any time I hear.
