UCL is back... Liverpool are onto something.

Liverpool started their game with a depressing performance. We shot ourselves in the leg in the first minute of the game. Milan saw the opportunity and launched a massive attack. The first attempt didn't yield a good result. However, the follow-up attempt was undeniable.

They got their goal and served Liverpool an eye-opener.

Being a goal down by that time was a reminder that "UCL is no joke". It didn't leave a good taste in my mouth. But, I wasn't too disturbed. We still had enough time to get 3 points from the game.

Liverpool nailed an equalizer in the 23rd minute, thanks to a clean header by Konate. The build-up to that goal was from a sumptuous free kick taken by Trent.

Liverpool scored another goal to put themselves ahead before halftime. The second goal also came from another sumptuous cross which was delivered by Tsimikas. The goal-scoring header was from VVD.

The two goals scored by Liverpool in the first half and the two assists for both goals were delivered by Liverpool's defenders. Those lads were on serious business tonight.

Second Half.

Liverpool started the second half with an admirable level of intensity. They subsequently got their third goal in the 66th minute. The build-up to that highlighted the remarkable work rate of Gakpo. Szobo got the delivery and bagged a goal.

The final score sheet means that Liverpool are already at an advantageous position in this stage of their UCL campaign of the season.

Real Madrid.

Madrid's game was a dicey one. Everyone expects a win from Real Madrid. However, they struggled to stay composed in the game. Their first goal was supposed to come from a penalty in the 35th minute.

The on-field referee awarded the penalty, but the call was followed by a couple of controversies. VAR stepped in and reversed the decision leaving the scoreline at a 0-0 draw. The rest of the first half was pretty much a series of back-and-forth pushes from both sides of the field.

Second Half.

Madrid had everything going well for them in the second half of the game. They got their first goal in the 46 minutes. Stuttgart equalized 20 minutes later to heighten the dramatic nature of the game.

Both sides tried to get ahead of each other on the score sheet until the 80th minute of the game. Real Madrid got two more goals and secured a win in their first UCL game of this season.

UCL is the footballing tournament we enjoy.

I'm looking forward to more dramatic games as we explore each element of the season.
