Sportstalk Curation Showcase

Hello and welcome to another weekly edition of the Sportstalk showcase where authors from the sports tribe are highlighted for everyone to see. These posts are all live meaning they all fall within the 7 day window of curation. A vote is not a necessity as maybe a follow is more important if you find a particular author you enjoy.

Asking A Soccer Legend a Quiz Question

I don't know about you but certain posts stay in the memory banks longer than others and @blanchy has a few floating around in my head these days. Like all Irishmen he can tell a good story and there is definitely an art to pulling them off as well as he can. This was another cracker to go along with his mad friends Bungalow and Flood as those episodes can never be forgotten. There was more than one and they are all classics. I remember @blanchy as I met him the very first day he popped on Hive and I think I was the first vote and comment he ever received and I haven't got rid of him since. Talk about life changing moments having a mad Irishmen in your feed but it is all good and very happy he returned after a short break. Honestly Hive is a much more enjoyable experience having characters like these around as they tend to lighten the mood and bring smiles.

You Won't Score The Winning Bucket

@edprivat brings a skeleton out the closet but a good one and not a bad one in this case. This was not exactly a #sportingdisaster but could have easily become one. I enjoy Ed's posts as you just never know what you are going to get and this one I was expecting the opposite to what happened lol. A talented author and musician so if you are looking for some entertainment @edprivat is your man.

The final push to Bangkok - Mission Completed!

One of the newest member son Sportstalk is @jobiker and it is great to see these new interesting authors popping up from nowhere. His epic journey of 1000km came to an end this week and loved every minute of his travels. Hope it is not a once off and he starts pedaling again as he cannot stop now lol. Really great as this is what the sports tribe needs, more of the same please.

The Greatest Football Transfers that never happened

We all know @talesfrmthecrypt from his Monday Sporting Quiz so I wanted to highlight another one of his posts that deserved a mention. If you are going to play Trivial Pursuit or attend a pub quiz then he is definitely one to have on your side as he does his research. Transfer signings are big news and big business and so many don't quite make it over the line for one reason or another. Imagine being the ones (Blackburn Rovers) trying to land Lewandowski and you have a bloody volcano thwarting your the deal. The rest is history as we all know how big a player he went on to become with Borussia Dortmund then Bayern Munich. Another great read and deserves the specials attention as we all know how much time goes into these types of epic posts.

The Smallest Countries Who’ve Had Premier League Stars (Part 2)

Another author who has come from nowhere lately is @wolfgangsport who does his homework researching posts. I am a sucker for his various series he compiles as one learns so much new stuff. Funny as there was no Premiership matches being played yet he still finds stuff to write about. A football or sporting fan has no barriers and this is so with @wolfgangsport.

The importance of Respect in Sport

@ablaze raises the obvious this week comparing the sport of rugby vs football and the difference in respect shown to the officials. They are literally gulfs apart and not in the same hemisphere as one is disciplined and respectful and the other has nothing. I was a rugby referee for a number of years before injury prevented me reaching my goals and never had any issues with the players. We had Premier League referees come to us weekly for advice and we all saw them as weak individuals as I believe the problem is down to the person with the whistle. Make 1 or 2 examples and suddenly the situation changes instantly which is what should happen.

A great selection of posts this week and all so different and what stands out is they are all original. I wish we had more authors in Sportstalk who could see what is being rewarded and what isn't. Match reports are ok but hardly original as you are writing about what everyone else has watched as well which is kind of a big yawn.

@wolfgangsport is a prime candidate for everyone to take notice of as his rewards have grown from the support he now gets. Consistency and originality is what has made him successful along with being busy within the community. This is how Hive works and will always work and the opportunities are here for those that step up. I am always on the lookout for new authors to curate and show case and honestly would love to show case new names each week which is not that easy currently. Quality has to come first as we have standards to maintain.

Until next week thanks to everyone involved in the @sportstalksocial tribe and have a great one.

Sort:

I definitely encourage everyone to get creative and write creatively as an outlet. I have my own certain style and it's the ones who are themselves that really stand out.

It all comes down to planning and I myself am guilty of sometimes missing a day here and there of not being able to curate and engage with the tribe. But I'll always make a point of making sure I catch up on it because it helps fuel further growth of my writing.

I've got a lot of authors I've got to thank on here who help inspire me by provoking thought which leads to another 2 or 3 articles. I think this is the sort of community where we all inspire each other and it'll keep snowballing. Just don't miss the ride!

Excellent choices! I read them all and found them to be very interesting and creative to read. I learned a lot from the guru's and hope to create content similar to theirs one day. Well-done

Very cool highlights as always. Congratulations to the authors they are working hard to produce great content 👍 it's so nice to have a variety of styles in the sports talk social community. I always learn something new

Oh yeah! Thanks for shout out and coming up with the concept. Some really good posts indeed cheers everyone!

Thanks for the mention - thats really nice! Read all the other posts there and particularly enjoyed reading @edprivat story of the goal he should never have owned!

I've always admired @wolfgangsport's style of writing and how he comes up with interesting topics. I am always drawn to comment on his posts. That's why I also try to stick to my style and speak on football matches for the week.

Well done and thanks for all you've been doing for us all.
