I was pleased to see at least a little bit of profit on Saturday even though everything remains a massive challenge and I'm keeping the stakes to an absolute minimum because of it. Also on Sunday where 4 matches are played...

Antwerp vs Genk

Antwerp is a team that has been over their top but they played an ok match away against Dender winning with 1-3 while the xg in that match only was 0.65-0.67. They got 0-1 in the lead with an own goal and mainly kept control afterward as Dender isn't the free scoring team. Genk has been struggling the last month not really finding their form and confidence which showed in the match against Club Brugge away where they played way too passively. They however learned from that and played with much more drive at home against Anderlecht last week. They clearly are a team however who tends to do better at home while for Antwerp it's fairly neutral. The odds feels about right with Genk as the small favorite as they do have a better team and a better bench. I only took a 0.1 unit bet on Genk +0.5 corners @ 1.910 as I do see them going forward learning from what took place in Brugge.

Club Brugge vs Westerlo

Brugge took a deserved draw away in Union after a difficult match and remain in a good form. The will be missing De Cuyper, Seys, and Onyedika today but have enough quality for this not to be an issue. So they have good form but without really blowing any of the opponents away. If anything I see them as a team reliable to be able to turn a match around in case they fall behind while in most cases they make the first goal as they are leading the 1H standings. Westerlo after a great start has become a lot more anonymous in the league. They took a fair draw at home against Mechelen. In the last 3 matches they are 2nd highest in goals against at 2.100 while Club brugge is 2nd in xg for at 2.11. Westerlo also will be without Frigan as their main striker which they don't really have a replacement for. For me the most likely outcome is for Brugge to win with a 2-0 / 3-0 score as the quality difference should be too big. The only pre-game bet that I was willing to take is just 0.05 units on Club Brugge Win To Zero @ 2.545 with an eye to possibly take Brugge 1H or Club Brugge on the handicap in-game. If Westerlo manages to score first I do see a good chance for the home team to still turn it around.

Kortrijk vs Charleroi

Kortrijk with their new coach last week was robbed against Beerschot but still managed to beat their handicap which is making the coach change effect quite big in Belgium with a 4.5W-0.5L-0.5P record so far. They have quite some injured players though with Kadri, Nacho, Dejaegere and remain a teal who likely will continue to struggle and fight against relegation. Charleroi is a team with more quality and they also picked up a better form in their last 3 matches. However, they remain a team who are better at home compared to away. So while I see Charleroi as the more likely winner today, The low -0.25 line odds are not really tempting as it remains a match that needs to be played. No Pre-Game Bets

Mechelen vs Standard

Mechelen feels like a team who are somewhat over their top and they are without a win in their last 4 matches. This without really playing bad matches especially at home. They have some injured players wit Foulon, Vanheusden and Storm but they should not have too much negative impact from that. Standard remains a team who just don't have enough quality and are still bad offensively. In their match against AA Gent where a draw would not have been undeserved, they had 0 shots on goal. So yeah, Mechelen is the favorite in this match but they still need to make the goal which might not be as easy against Standard who have shown to be capable to just defend. I do expect a match picture where Mechelen mostly has the ball but is not willing to take much risk. I took an initial position of 0.2 units on 1H Under 1 @ 2.060 mainly riding the Standard Under trend. Mechelen also cooled down a lot of their home overs. I will also keep an eye on the Mechelen 1H corners handicap.

AA Gent vs Union

This is probably the most interesting match of the day as Union has found their old form yet and are playing attractive matches while AA Gent mostly continue to rely on luck while they don't play that great and give way too many chances away. At the same time, their xg against has been coming down from 1.68 on the season to now just 1.12 in their last 3 matches. They are also a team who tends to perform better at home while Union on the season is at a whopping 0.5W-7.5L-1P away from home. Union on the other hand has been solid defensively but now are at 1..59xg against while on the season they are at 1.21xg. While my initial feeling is that Union is more likely to win this match and the -0.25 line along with the Away Team Total Over, the numbers simply aren't good enough to really justify a bet. It remains an away match of a bad away team against a ok home team. At the same time, AA Gent remains a team who are on my list of teams to possibly oppose so I'm stuck at No Pre-Game Bets
