The Belgian League resumes tonight and I'm looking forward to it after the international break. As always, 1 match on Friday Evening to kickstart things off.
Beerschot vs Anderlecht
Beerscot so far this season in the belgian League can somewhat be compared to Malta in the national team competitions. They are dead last with just 2 points with a 8-27 goal saldo and they are looking at a near sure relegation. Their coach started the season playing quite open which clearly didn't work and he made a 180° turn in the last match putting everything on defense which actually got them a point. This away against Westerlo in a 2-2 match who had a hard time breaking their wall at the end mainly creating corners. Beerschot also scored at 100% with just 0.68xg. They have been highly overrated on their handicaps going just 1.5W-7.5L-1P while they at least were an over team going 7.5W-2L-0.5P on the over while this almost fully comes from before what looks to be a style switch by their coach. Anderlecht miraculously took the points under Riemer despite not playing that well. Under Hubert they play a bit more forward and better but overall just took a 0-0 at home against Charleroi, 1-1 away against Dender, and 3-0 at home against a Standard. In these matches they created 1.14xg / 1.46xg / 0.84xg. They are still missing Vertonghen and Hazard while backup Central defender Simic is also suspended. They are a team with a big divergence between home and away results against the asian handicap. 3W-1L away while 1W-4L at home. Basically, what I expect is for Beerschot again to at least start the match with very high energy and focus on defense hoping to break out on the counter against an Anderlecht defense which is vulnerable. Over 90 minutes I expect Anderlecht to just be too good though. I took 0.35 units on
1st Half Under 1.25 @ 1.909 and 0.05 units on
1H Under 1 @ 2.430 with an eye the decrease exposure in case there is no early goal. I'm also tempted by the 1H Corners handicap for Anderlecht and Anderlecht to win the match. odds however dropped on Anderlecht so I will keep it as an option in-game.
