It will be a big crisis for Chelsea as Ben Chilwell has been out for the rest of the season due to Knee injury he suffered in the Champions League competition game against Juventus in the second leg at Stamford Bridge, though as at that time it is conclude that he will be out for at least around six weeks and he has been positive to the treatment been given to him but unfortunately he will have to undergo surgery that will see him out of this season.

It was announced on Chelsea official website that the knee specialist are working on taking a Rehabilitation approach for him and Surgery will take place this week according to Chelsea website. Chilwell before the injury was in his good performance as he struggle to fight for a place in the team, he never relents and became the first choice in his position ahead of Marcus Alonso and he became a good part of the first team.

He has so far played 12 times this season which he made the starting line-up 9 times and also has recorded five goals for Chelsea and England respectively. He is so much missed and needed at this crucial time because of the current situation of the team. Ever since he is out if the team the left back has not stable and Marcus Alonso seems to have been losing confidence. Probably Chelsea could be looking forward to continue playing Marcus Alonso and they prayed he doesn't have injury.

Sort:

it might take time for Alonso to gain his confidence again.
Or will Chelsea looks for a new defender in the coming transfer window?

Not sure if Chelsea will be going fir a replacement because they had a player for that position on loan.

It's always a hard pill to take when you lose a key player. I feel sorry for him and I hope Chelsea has a worthy replacement.
