I had every intention of not watching the Lions game last night. I know, I know, biggest game of the season so far, but for a variety of reasons, I figured I should skip it. First, with an 8:30 PM kick of time, I knew it would go well into the night. Getting up at 4:30 AM every morning to work out kind of puts the breaks on staying up late most nights. Second, like many people, I thought it was going to be a much closer game than it was. I figured there would be a lot of frustration and raging, so I figured it would be best to just skip it.
That was the plan anyway. Then I found myself tossing and turning all through the night, so I kept opening up The Score app on my phone to check the score. They've actually made some real improvements to the app over the years and at least when I am mobile, it has become my go-to source for getting sports scores.
You can see in the opening photo how they now show a virtual field and give you a play by play. That wasn't always the case. It's pretty neat.
Anyway, there were some other games yesterday besides the Lions and the Vikings. Let's recap...
Baltimore beat Cleveland 35 to 10, Cincinnati beat Pittsburgh 19 to 17, and Tampa Bay took down New Orleans 27 to 19.
Philadelphia beat the Giants 20 to 13, New England upset the Bills 23 to 16, and Indianapolis beat Jacksonville in overtime 26 to 23.
Houston beat Tennessee 23 to 14, Chicago beat Green Bay on a wild field goal with two seconds left in the game 24 to 22, and Washington had a big win over the Cowboys 23 to 19.
Carolina squeaked out another win against Atalanta 44 to 38 in overtime and Arizona demolished San Francisco 47 to 24. The Jets showed some late life beating Miami 32 to 20, and Seattle stunned the Rams 30 to 25.
The Chargers beat Vegas 34 to 20, and Denver blanked a Carson Wentz led Kansas City team 38 to 0. It's funny because even though KC already made it to the playoffs and Mahomes wasn't even playing, you could still see the officials doing their best to give the game to KC. It's sad how rigged the NFL is these days. I'm not sure why I keep watching.
Finally, as I alluded to above, Detroit shocked most everyone hammering Minnesota 31 to 9. There has a been a lot of talk around that game and the Minnesota loyal were saying how The Vikings weren't getting the respect they deserved. I think Detroit squashed that misconception last night.
With those games finally finished, the Wild Card round is set for next weekend. It will be interesting to see how those games play out. I will cover the match ups more later this week.

I watched the game. The disrespect is real. And deserved. Minnesota is more inflated than the USD
Yeah, probably not so late for you there in mountain time! Darnold was on fire for a while there. I still think they are decent. You don't get 14 wins otherwise (unless you're KC). Conferences were weird this year though, they were either super competitive or they totally sucked. That Bears win was a nice way to end the season...
Their defense is how they won 14 games. They'll beat the Rams but lose to Detroit the next week.. again
It's so stupid the way they have it set up so we have to see that match up again.
Agreed

Not a lot of this actually surprised me other than Carolina pulling of a win and the Pats beating the Bills. I wasn't paying attention that well but did Buffalo not need that win or something kid of like how for KC this game vs Denver was a non-issue?
