Man oh man, what a wonderful week it has been! I already had a perfect Christmas no matter what, but the Sixers beating the rival defending champion Boston Celtics IN Boston made the holiday just a bit more special.
Embiid brought a ton of energy and had a really solid night. Maxey was dialed in as well, and the two players combined for sixty points! Caleb Martin had to have his best game as a Sixer as he was just in the ZONE scoring 23 including drilling a ludicrous SEVEN out of his nine three point shots! Unbelievable. It was a fun game!! A game definitely worth remembering. On Christmas and the Sixers trying to turn their season around against the defending champs!!! LET'S GO.

The team's energy has been off for a lot of the season but throughout all of that drama and uncertainty, the Sixers have kind of quietly won eight of their last eleven games! They're showing pretty good mental toughness and are just hooping their way out of this funk. Tyrese Maxey has been steadying the ship the whole time while Joel Embiid has been starting to play more frequently and Paul George continues to show flashes of his known greatness and contributes in a nice way. Guerschon Yabusele and Kelly Oubre Jr. have been excellent role players. The team is shaping up to be the team many of us Sixers fans thought they'd be a lot sooner.
The Sixers now sit with an 11-17 record with two more games remaining in the calendar year of 2024. They are just barely behind the 13-18 Bulls for the last play-in spot. Both of the Sixers' upcoming games are west coast/side road games against pretty poor Jazz and Trail Blazer teams. If all goes well the Sixers could very possibly be entering 2025 fairly close to .500. That sounds awesome considering all the hurdles the season has presented so far.
Things are looking steadily better and better but there's still a lot of basketball to be played this season. The Sixers close the year against some easier teams on paper but they must take care of business. January the Sixers will be playing a bunch of games. I don't know the exact math here but from what I can tell up until now the Sixers have played a lesser amount of games than the majority of other teams. That's just how the schedule goes sometimes. January presents four back to back games. Starting tomorrow, they won't see more than a day off between games until they complete their game January 15th.
A big grind is ahead for the Sixers, but the team looks different in a good way! Let's take care of business tomorrow though, one game at a time. The Jazz only have 7 wins on the season so they will be hungry. Collin Sexton and Lauri Markkanen are two players who should not be slept on!
With Christmas just passing and New Year's still to come the vibes still feel festive, let's hope the Sixers can keep the good times rolling.
