Every year we have a real ant infestation at home. Mainly flying ants. These critters apparently find our house an ideal place to build their nest. 🤔
I'll let them do it, because they don't really disturb, and they apparently don't live that long, because those who did get in are then dead on the floor.
Now that mainly occurs in the spring, but yesterday I saw something I had never seen before!
A mama ant with a baby ant on her back perched on our window. I tried to take some pictures of it, although it was not easy with my Samsung A52.

Well 😃 this scene is actually about some more adult stuff. This is a mating pair. You can see the big female that, if everything goes right, will become a queen of a new colony, and the smaller male that will die soon after the copulation. The photographs are cool.

I understand. 🙂It makes sense to think about an adult and a baby if one has animals like mammals in mind, but insects are weird creatures, a bit like aliens when compared to our life and biology. HIVE is a cool place to learn, I learned plenty of cool stuff from people here.

Well, maybe about oligarchies as well. But like in real-life political systems, being dictatorships, oligarchies, or more or less genuine democracies, life is going on, and the people are communicating, sharing experiences, and learning. I lived in socialism - wanna be communism until my early adulthud and I learned quite a few things that have nothing to do with Tito, Marx, and the Communist party along the way.
Is Hive a virtual Oligarchy? I don't know. Maybe. But it looks like there is a genuine attempt to spread the resources among more people through how the platform works.
Let's say that is an Oligarchy. What are the other platforms with the same or similar concept? Are they any better in that sense of not being an Oligarchy?
Here I see some development and even fun going on. Ok, my perspective can (and probably, at least partially it is) be byass because I'm doing well here. But the thing is, I'm doing well without the necessity to
suck up to I don't know who of the supposed Oligarchs. I'm doing my thing, some people like it. Who likes upvotes, and I upvote what I like. And the virtual life in hope to get rich one day, goes on.

Absolutely 😀I always imagine myself being rightfully weird to the animals I photograph. Since I spend plenty of time with insects, watching them through the macro lens, I don't even perceive them as strange anymore. Fascinating yes, but not strange. But the stories about insets behaviors and biology can sound pretty weird to people, just like some invented biology in the SF movie. And is usually weird in a cool way. Even when there is a feeling of repulsion, there is at least a bit of wow! or amazing! mixed with that. From my experience with people around me. Yes, definitively the weirdness is always in the eye of the beholder while the universe is doing its stuff.
