hi all my friends are insect lovers. This morning I went to the garden to see the growth of the spinach I had planted twelve days ago.
And it looks like this growth doesn't look very attractive.
I saw some of these insects interfere with the growth of spinach. this insect behavior feels irritating to my vegetables.
maybe you can see the behavior of these insects through some of the pictures I took.
besides eating, he also wraps the spinach leaves like making a nest on the leaves of this vegetable. and it's very annoying.
how to overcome this insect behavior. without having to use chemicals. I don't like using chemicals because in four days these spinach vegetables can be harvested. maybe if I use chemicals for spraying it will be dangerous to consume.
Everything else is better than using poisonous chemicals!
Sometimes it can help to add natural enemies of caterpillars for example beetles of the family Carabidae.
For example the genus Calosoma is known to hunt caterpillars.
@jaki01 thanks for the suggestion this is interesting. but to find this Calosoma insect is also difficult to eradicate the caterpillars. in the garden I never saw any of these Calosoma wandering around. Will I have to pull out one by one the caterpillars from the spinach leaves? 😊 I think it's impossible either.
Actually, Calosoma was just a possible suggestion. At first you had to find out which Carabidae species are living in your area ...
What beautiful insects. Though these photos are well taken, they leave me wondering the interesting ways in which they must move and which important role they play in the local ecosystem.
Thanks, and much luck with your gardening!
like him he likes to bother, like rolling up spinach leaves and even eating them. now he is also known as Hama.

Hi @anwars,
This is a great post, wonderful pictures. I think there are many people on Hive who know a lot about natural gardening. They might be able to give you some tips. Did you try picking these creatures off by hand? I don't know anything about it, but that's something I would try.
Good luck with the spinach.
Thank you @agmoore. but it feels impossible if you have to take one by hand because there are so many of them.
Sorry 😟
The nature is so beautiful.
