All damselfly species of the family Calopterygidae ; the wolf spider of the family Lycosidae ; and the tiger beetle of the genus Cicindela are three types of insects that I often find in rocky river/tributary environments.
That observation led me to believe that the insect's habitat existed in such an environment.
Instead of being small in stature, the last insect has a peculiar and frightening face.
I recently caught golden-spotted tiger beetles (Cicindela aurulenta) along the Blang Kolam river in North Aceh, and this is a species of tiger beetle that belongs to the family Carabidae.
The golden-spotted tiger beetle has strong serrated jaws, adores hunting ants, and frequently steals ant eggs. It possessed slender legs that allowed it to move rapidly and a pair of wings that allowed it to fly low.
Because of their lethal jaws, several insects are scared of jumping spiders and other kinds of spiders. The tiger beetle, on the other hand, is an anomaly; I've seen it fight with a jumping spider, with the latter becoming prey.

You're really brave getting so close to such an exotic looking bug. It looks so beautifully dangerous 😵
The horse is very beautiful and the colors are very striking.
What a beautifully coloured insect you captured there! Great macro shots!
I see you use the #POBPHOTOCONTEST tag. Would you be so kind only to use them if you join the #POBPHOTOCONTEST itself? The contest has a new subject every week. This round the subject is FURNITURE.
Hahaha.. Sorry for missing out on the different weekly themes because I didn't really track the progress of your weekly contest. If you don't agree, I'll delete the tag. Thank you for telling me; I deeply appreciate it. 🙂
Oh, it's no problem for now. You can leave the tag. But in future posts please only use it if you join the contest.
I use the tag to get an overview of all the contestants of the week.
Have a great Sunday!
