Actually, there is a reminder on PEAKD that pops up whenever a user still has @steem set as their recovery account. It says: "Invalid Recovery Account!" and has "Change Now" and "Dismiss" options. 🙂 So many use HIVE.BLOG or other interfaces, though, and never see such a reminder. 😕
