- Tío bello, háblame más sobre la familia de mi papá. Ya sé que él devora libros, y que se graduó como dramaturgo en la universidad; que ha hecho teatro, y que en las tablas fue donde conoció a mi mamá. Oye, y ¿es verdad que mi abuelita escribe y recita poemas? Yo también he sacado la afición por la lectura y la escritura.

Son tantas las cosas que mi sobrina Mariángel quisiera saber sobre su padre, pues solo lo conoció estando grandecita y nunca vivió con él. Es más, creo que yo he compartido más con ella de lo que ellos lo han hecho. Por eso, ella suele llamarme su tío favorito.

Yo, siempre he mantenido el contacto y la he apoyado en todo lo que he podido; aunque vivimos en ciudades distantes. Sin embargo, lo que más me entristece es que –a pesar de tenerlo– no use nuestro apellido, ya que no se identifica ni se siente orgullosa de él.

Un día me dijo: “Tío, estoy escribiendo relatos en una plataforma en internet llamada Steemit; te voy a enviar el link para que me des tu opinión”.

Ahí comienza mi historia pública como escritor en Steemit y ahora en Hive; porque aquel relato que había escrito mi pequeña Mariángel era espectacular, una obra literaria que me dejó prendado. Yo soy un ávido lector, crítico y selectivo de los buenos escritos, y el relato de mi sobrina no tenía nada que envidiar a escritores famosos.

De inmediato quise comentarle y felicitarla por su excelente escritura, y darle un voto para apoyarla económicamente; pero sin formar parte de la plataforma no podía hacerlo. Así que, decidí entrar y formar parte de esa comunidad de escritores, para estar cerca de ella y apoyarla en esa iniciativa de hacerse escritora, cosa que hacía muy bien.

Empecé de cero sin comprender mucho, con la sola idea de crecer para tener fuerza con que apoyarla. Tome mis antiguos poemas privados que jamás imaginé que revelaría, y comencé a publicarlos tratando de aumentar mi poder de voto. Me sentía como un diminuto pez en un océano desconocido, rodeado de aguas turbulentas; pero, por mi Mariángel, jamás me rendiría. Aprendería a nadar, a crecer y construir un nombre, una imagen que fuese digno de ella, alguien de la familia de quien ella pudiera sentirse orgullosa.

Y desde entonces ya han pasado –en un abrir y cerrar de ojos– catorce meses.

A fuerza de tenacidad, constancia y creatividad he alcanzado, a la fecha, una modesta reputación de 59.65 y un poder de voto de 316 HP, con un poco de ayuda de algunos peces que he conocido en este océano y que merecen ser mencionados:

@mayvil, siempre pendiente de apoyar a los nuevos desde su comunidad, con buenos consejos, tutoriales y curaciones de los buenos escritos.

@vikvitnik, quien vio en mi un potencial escritor de cuentos esotéricos, paranormales y de horror, y me hizo parte de la hermandad Kyteler, la cual represento con orgullo.

@darkfemme, cuya agilidad mental para la creación literaria (instantánea) es un ejemplo a seguir convirtiéndose en fuente de inspiración.

@pialejoana, la única que he conocido en persona. Tan apasionada como sus historias, aunque algo tímida y reservada, sus poemas hablan por ella. Me sigue debiendo un café.

@ritch, por sus sabios consejos y orientaciones

Este camino apenas comienza, hay mucho que aprender y hacer. Y en esta búsqueda ha llegado el apoyo de la comunidad “The Terminal” y sus incansables líderes @brittandjosie y @justclickindiva, con orientaciones, recomendaciones y consejos que ayudan e instan a crecer, pero un crecimiento para, como ellas, servir y apoyar a los que vienen detrás.

Gracias a su apoyo tuve la oportunidad de participar en este reto, que me ha encaminado hacia el sendero que quiero transitar, y me impulsa a alcanzar la meta más inmediata que son los 500 HP, para lo cual deberé planificar mejor las cosas, establecer objetivos y no descansar hasta alcanzarlos; sin perder el norte que me trajo a esta plataforma.

No voy con la corriente, sino que nado en contra de ella, porque sé que algún día hallaré la fuente. No llegue para obtener beneficios económicos, aunque no menosprecio lo que pueda obtener en el camino; sino que vine a forjar un nombre, a ser reconocido como un buen escritor, para que mi sobrina se sienta orgullosa de la sangre que lleva. Y así, tal vez, algún día vuelva a usar el apellido que la ausencia y las decepciones le robaron.

- Beautiful uncle, tell me more about my dad's family. I know that he devours books, and that he graduated from college as a playwright; that he has done theater, and that it was on the stage that he met my mom. Hey, and is it true that my grandmother writes and recites poems? I've got a taste for reading and writing too.

There are so many things that my niece Mariángel would like to know about her father, since she only met him when she was a child and never lived with him. What's more, I think I've shared more with her than they have. That's why she usually tells me her favorite uncle.

I have always kept in touch and supported her as much as I could, even though we live in distant cities. However, what saddens me most is that - despite having one - she does not use our surname, as she does not identify with it or feel proud of it.

One day she told me: "Uncle, I'm writing stories on an internet platform called Steemit, and I'm going to send you the link so you can give me your opinion".

There begins my public story as a writer in Steemit and now in Hive; because that story that my little Mariángel had written was spectacular, a literary work that left me hooked. I am an avid reader, critic and selective of good writing, and my niece's story had nothing to envy from famous writers.

I immediately wanted to comment and congratulate her on her excellent writing, and give her a vote to support her financially; but without being part of the platform I could not do so. So, I decided to enter and be part of that community of writers, to be close to her and support her in that initiative of becoming a writer, which she was doing very well.

I started from scratch without understanding much, with the only idea of growing to have strength to support her. I took my old private poems that I never imagined I would reveal, and began to publish them trying to increase my voting power, I felt like a tiny fish in an unknown ocean, surrounded by turbulent waters. But, for my Mariángel, I would never give up; I would learn to swim, to grow and build a name, an image that was worthy of her; someone from the family she could be proud of.

And since then it has been - in the blink of an eye - fourteen months.

By dint of tenacity, perseverance and creativity I have achieved, to date, a modest reputation of 59.65 and a voting power of 316 HP, with a little help from some fish I have met in this ocean that deserve to be mentioned:

@mayvil, always ready to support newcomers from his community, with good advice, tutorials and healing of good writings.

@vikvitnik, who saw in me a potential writer of esoteric, paranormal and horror stories, and made me part of the Kyteler brotherhood, which I proudly represent.

@darkfemme, whose mental agility for (instant) literary creation is an example to be followed and which is a source of inspiration.

@pialejoana, the only one I've ever met in person. As passionate, as her stories, although somewhat shy and reserved, her poems speak for her. She still owes me a coffee.

@ritch, for his wise counsel and guidance

This journey is just beginning, there is much to learn and do. And in this quest has come the support of the community "The Terminal" and its tireless leaders @brittandjosie and @justclickindiva, with guidance, recommendations and advice that help and encourage growth, but growth to, like them, serve and support those who come after.

Thanks to your support I had the opportunity to participate in this challenge, which has put me on the path I want to take, and drives me to reach the most immediate goal which is 500 HP, for which I will have to plan things better, establish objectives and not rest until I reach them; without losing the north that brought me to this platform.

I am not going with the current, but I am swimming against it, because I know that one day I will find the source. I didn't come here for financial gain, although I don't despise what I can get on the way; but I came here to make a name, to be recognized as a good writer, so that my niece can be proud of the blood she carries. And so, perhaps, one day I will use again the name that absence and disappointments stole from her.
