There are magical portals that allow you to travel through time, photos.
It took me a bit of work to find three photos, those that I must show to join this super bold and cute collage of photos taken during our teenage years.
First of all, because my youth coincided with the 90's and at that same moment we suffered from photographic silences -- between " others" silences -- fruits of the so-called Cuban "special period", and secondly, no one cared about it, the photos were only luxuries and obligatory appointments for some birthdays and weddings, due to the high cost of their value.
So if I wanted to organize a personal photo album, I could only ensure that stage where they show me with very large Antiseptic fabric diapers, crying with all my hair standing on end because of a tantrum, and very innocent and happy smiling with wet snot coming out of my face. nose. Then, a spectacular leap into the photographic void until I was fifteen, and another for a little more than twenty years after, that until Don Cellular arrived.
So, there aren't many as you can see, but as fate and luck would have it, I have a couple of them saved because they were shared by some friends, and thanks to that I will be able to bring you three photos with one or another story behind them.
Year 1988.Photos from my fifteen's
...Mmm...
I tell you that I never had the illusion of dressing up as a princess, nor of modeling mischievously for a photographer, much less of leaving a pool in a bathing suit dripping with chlorinated water and looking like a cover for Vanity Fair.
In fact, my mother was half tormented by it, and almost on the verge of begging for me to accept. But, since Moscow did not believe in tears (I), Im off that summer to my aunt's house forty kilometers away and asked her to cut me hair very short without remembering that girls who turn fifteen have to keep their buns very long to build beautiful curls similar to those of the Victorian era.
The girl with the pink umbrella
My mom got very, very, very angry, and so that she wouldn't cry anymore, I agreed to take the photos.
In a very simple way, and after all, I enjoyed them, they were not in a professional studio and I think the photographer was much less so, because looking at them today I would have aligned the edges better, the positions and angles would have been different.
But there they are, kept in her album, until the paper becomes translucent in memory of my dear mother.
Oops, the floor is uneven.
Year 1989. The girls just want to have fun.
This is one of my epic photos, the truth is that it doesn't have much competition either, but when I look at it I still feel the salt sticking to my body, the hair hard and wet on my forehead, and the uncomfortable and stubborn bathing suit got into somewhere, but, despite this, it was a spectacular day at the beach.
Just before the aforementioned special period, I was already studying at a scholarship school, and we went out every weekend for our home...the joy was so sincere and warm that often very early on Saturday we would take very large trucks that would take us to a of the beaches most visited by people in the province, and there was no better way to recover the lost energy.
Hi, I'm the one with the outstretched hand.
It was a time free of technology, and the sun, the beach and our friendship were enough for us, we even laughed at the shock we got if we lost the bus that would take us back home, how crazy.
Someone who was there asked us if we wanted to take a photo, and we all unanimously answered yes...I don't remember how much it cost, but it was worth it, yes, many times yes.
Year 1992. All for one and one for all.
I was in my second year of University, and since my major is agricultural, they sent us all to teaching units in the countryside - it would be the same as what a medical student does in a hospital - an agronomist must know the land, the crops and the animals. ...and educationally it is something basic, very basic.
The fact is that a group of people living in very difficult circumstances, and with many common interests, can only end up feeling like family.
I tell you: we were hungry like hell, we were stranded at night on the roads, we took care of each other when we were sick, we shared everything we had, the boys jealously protected the girls, we studied like crazy... .and they taught me to dance casino with a lot of dedication and patience as only brothers can do.
Guys,I miss you.
I got these photos from a Dominican friend who sent them to us.
This is life and what we take with us, each photo represents a stage that helped us grow, to live, to mature, to be better, or worse... to be authentic, and to be as human as possible.
This is my participation for the callenger that our dear friend @mipiano organized... super grateful for giving me the opportunity to dust off such beautiful memories.
Always very grateful for your reading.

Hunger... I thought so much about that phrase. 😔
Many years later we still have hunger perhaps worse than that one because it is now about many hungers combined.
I'll try to sleep now. See you tomorrow, Y.
Isn't it amazing?
15 hours to be able to reply to your comment...zero connection, you know....
Could it be that we have our own version of The Hunger Games?
@nanixxx, that's why we are so strong and resilient, we have tanned ourselves with a very particular and unique crocodile skin of our country.
However, I recognize that I was very happy during those hard years ignoring that the future would be particularly worse.
I remain unconnected.

Tremendo 🙄

Beautiful photographs of the 15th birthday! My album was left in Argentina but I remember that day very clearly.
I loved the third picture, very spontaneous and beautiful. And the fourth one, what a nice group of people... how many things one goes through at that time and how much one learns and progresses. A big hug!😃
I hope you have nice memories of that day, I look back and recognize that despite my resistance to photos we had a really good time.....secretito: those photos were taken with a friend from school in the biggest hotel in the city, between both families they rented a room and allowed us to spend the night with other friends ...something like a teenage sleepover, and with room service ... haha haha ... imagine that.
Life is full of nice experiences, isn't it?
Although sometimes we have to embellish them to fool ourselves a little bit....
Sorry for the delay in replying, I'm offline....
A hug back.

These experiences are worth a lot! And thanks for the little secret. My little party was at home and thanks to my godfather I was able to have it with a few people but happy! Hugs and no apologies!😄
There were really four of us girls in a room, but it felt like a lot of freedom in the minds of those teenage girls.
Always the important thing is to be happy.
My battery will soon die in 2%.
