One Of My Favourites! (The OB5)

Well Hello There Horsepower Lovers!!

Let's See!

So a few months ago Bossman bought this Audi Q5 from a customer and well we've never gotten the chance to get around to fixing it up yet.

Today he asked me to prepare the valve body for this one and mayhaps we can get it running before the end of the year, this car didn't really have any problems other than the clutch that burned.

But let's see what we can find!

It's Been Tampered With!

Well I'm not sure what Bossman did with those solenoids but it is missing some stuff, not sure where it might have gone but I'll sort this out real quick! We have a bunch of spare parts lying around, the only problem is we won't be knowing what works and what does not!

Suppose this will be a trial and error right!

With that I am fine, I like these builds!

A Bit Of Gunk!

Well there sure is some clutch linings stuck in almost everywhere!

Dang I had a hard time getting them washed out, they've been chilling for so long that I had to scrape them out and then wash it off!

I had to rinse and repeat about three of four times!

Complete Teardown!

It wasn't the game plan when I started with this one but after seeing all those clutch linings stuck in everywhere I decided that it might be a good idea!

After all practice makes perfect right, I've never actually tore down one of these so I'll have to be at my best game!
Laughs well we have a bunch of manuals if I really mess up! I wonder how it looks inside!

Let's waste no time!

Not Alot!

There isn't much going on in these, I am actually quite surprised but then again the Germans really know what they do, they don't need a whole lot of check balls and all that to get stuff to flow right!

They just build it right the first time around!

The Tower Kept Me Busy!

We call this the tower, why I don't know but it's what does the actual shifting inside the transmission.

So the one of the vehicle looks like it might have gotten some water at some point, not sure why because the transmission doesn't appear to have gotten water inside.

This one kept me real busy as I had to pick the best ones of the bunch! Not a hard task but a tedious one!

Finally All Done!

Well with the cleaning part at-least!

This was beyond tedious, I can't even begin to explain! Cleaning out every little piston and every little part and stacking them out one by one to get this thing together.

Now this is a sight I can live with! I am excited for this build!

For The Rest!

Okay now that I've assembled everything I have I can turn towards everything I need to get.

It's not a lot really we have kits here that we replaced so I can just tap in on those and fill it up! After this I can turn towards the transmission!
