Well Hello There Horsepower Lovers!!
The Fondest!
There is a catch to my feelings though, I do like these transmissions because they are as simple as it can get!
Seriously, those engineers said fuckit we are going to build something that we can fix in our own shops! Yet they still end up here on our door step!
What transmission is this you might ask? Well it's the transmission used in the Nissan NP200, that small pickup! Now I'm not exactly sure if it's that available over the seas but here in South Africa we have more of them on the roads than we have people in our country!
To top it off it really isn't a quality product at all!
The Most Complex Part Isn't Complex.
This must be the hardest part on this entire transmission and it's not hard at all xD!
The thing is, people see this and then they back the frak off! Why I mean can't you puzzle a puzzle? This is all it is? It's a complicated little puzzle, one that I have more than enough time for!
I can simply not accept the fact that not one person in a workshop has tried opening up a transmission before, not one oak! I mean seriously and this is as basic as it can get, actually no....
This is less basic than basic!
Fault Finding!
Dear mother!
I've seen some dirty transmissions in my time and however this one might not be that dirty and gunky on the inside but it sure as hell looks like it has been filled up with old engine oil! Not something I would suggest if it was indeed done!
The condition of the oil might be why this bearing failed, yeahp... You could have just spent a little more on a oil change and have you're car running further. You'll be saving at the end of the line at-least!
Tap, Tap And Out.
I swear you don't even have to hit all that hard to get those shafts removed, actually you can just pull on them and have them slipping out of place!
Now that is cool, but I've something else that is a tad cooler!!
I've never tore down one where you can just press out the entire shaft!
All At Once!
See guys I told you those Japanese always work with a plan! Although I don't think the Japanese built this one! Nope! This is more the French men that can carry the weight of this one!
As you press you just take out the gears that falls out of place and then you can press it through the rest of the way! It's an ingenious design and one that saves many time!
The Damage.
Well the damage really isn't that bad, it'll still be one hefty bill because of the slacking on services, it's time to take this transmission out of the car and it's time to open it!
Time ain't free and especially so for a company, you could have saved a lot of money just buying some fresh oil! A lot!
At-least he decided to bring it in before more trouble arose! It starts with the bearings!
OOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFF!
All Broken Down!
Broken down and packed neatly! This is something!
Now it's ready for the insurance assessor to come check it out and give his thoughts to us!
I do wonder if they will cover a job like this? Where the proper care wasn't given? No oil changes and abuse? I wonder? Maybe I can go and hit the streets and abuse my car as well and have the insurance cover it!
