Me presento: escribir me da vida / Introducing myself: writing gives me life!!! [ESP-ENG]

¡Hola a todos! Como apasionado por las redes sociales digitales, la comunicación y el marketing digital, conocí hace poco de la comunidad de Hive y las redes tokenizadas. Gracias a un curso de Robert Sasuke (@robsasuke) y su ayuda me acerqué de manera más seria al fenómeno, aunque me ha tomado algo de tiempo asimilar esta nueva manera de estar en comunidad dentro de internet.
Pero bueno, para luego es tarde. A continuación, les dejo saber un poco de mí.

Hello everyone! As a passionate about digital social networks, communication and digital marketing, I recently learned about the Hive community and tokenized networks. Thanks to a course by Robert Sasuke I approached more seriously the phenomenon, although it has taken me some time to assimilate this new way of being in community on the Internet.
Next, I'll let you know a little about me.

De médico a periodista, pasando por mago

Desde muy pequeño siempre tuve mucha fantasía. Actualmente, al momento de escribir este post, tengo unos 31 años adornados por una barba y algunas vivencias. Con tres o cuatro años me gustaba aquello de jugar a los doctores. Mi abuela era siempre la paciente más puntual y también ella me enseñó a leer a esa edad, con títeres. Además de la medicina, siempre me fascinó la magia, al punto de que pensé seriamente a la madura edad de siete años en adoptarla como forma de vida.

Encima, mi abuela me compró un libro para principiantes, en el que se desvelaban los más disímiles trucos de cartas, pañuelos y de todo tipo. Claro, que a los 11 años me dejaron de tarea entrevistar a un familiar y… mi abuela asumió. Coincidía esa época con el boom de Harry Potter, así que, entre el placer de hacer preguntas, la motivación por la lectura y la naciente pasión por escribir y viajar, decidí que sería periodista. No había de otra. Y aquí estoy, veinte años después, como el libro de Dumas. Con el sueño cumplido.

From being a doctor to become a journalist or magician

Since I was a child, I always had a lot of fantasy. Currently, at the time of writing this post, I am about 31 years old, adorned with a beard and some experiences. When I was three or four years old, I liked to play doctor. My grandmother was always the most punctual patient and she also taught me to read at that age, with puppets. Besides medicine, I was always fascinated by magic, to the point that at the ripe old age of seven I seriously considered adopting it as a way of life.

On top of that, my grandmother bought me a book for beginners, in which the most dissimilar card tricks, handkerchiefs and all kinds of tricks were revealed. Of course, when I was 11 years old, I was given the task of interviewing a relative and... my grandmother took it on. That time coincided with the Harry Potter boom, so, between the pleasure of asking questions, the motivation for reading and the nascent passion for writing and traveling, I decided I would be a journalist. There was no other choice. And here I am, twenty years later, like Dumas' book. With the dream fulfilled.

De la escritura y el periodismo

Escribir se ha vuelto vital para mí. De eso vivo, es mi fuente de sustento más grande: escribo trabajos periodísticos, escribo contenido para redes sociales, escribo para radio y televisión. Si hay una actividad que no paro de hacer en la vida es escribir.
A los 12 escribí mi primera novela: Dalila y los cálices, una suerte de historia calcada de Harry Potter. Había escuela de magia y el antagonista dejaba una marca en Dalila a modo de recordatorio de su encuentro. ¿Les suena?

Luego quise ponerme serio y escribí una novela sobre la revolución francesa. Un desastre a nivel argumental e histórico; pero lo importante era mantenerme escribiendo cada día para ser mejor.

Hasta el día de hoy no tengo clara la cuenta del número de historias a las que he dado vida. Desde una trilogía erótica, hasta libros de fantasía, realismo mágico, ciencia ficción… Y no me detengo.

El periodismo llegó por vocación. Necesitaba una profesión que me pagara por escribir, y el periodismo era perfecto. Rara vez se escribe la misma historia dos veces, así que era la dosis de creatividad que me hacía falta. Y ahí voy, he trabajado en radio y web principalmente.

About writing and journalism

Writing has become vital for me. That's what I live from, it's my greatest source of sustenance: I write journalistic works, I write content for social networks, I write for radio and television. If there is one activity that I never stop doing in life is writing.

At the age of 12 I wrote my first novel: Dalila and the Chalices, a sort of Harry Potter story. There was a magic school and the antagonist left a mark on Delilah as a reminder of their encounter. Does it sound familiar?

Then I wanted to get serious and wrote a novel about the French Revolution. A disaster at the plot and historical level; but the important thing was to keep writing every day to be better.

To this day I'm not clear on the number of stories I've brought to life. From an erotic trilogy, to fantasy books, magical realism, science fiction... And I don't stop.
Journalism came as a vocation. I needed a profession that paid me to write, and journalism was perfect. You rarely write the same story twice, so it was the dose of creativity I needed. And here I go, I've worked mainly in radio and web.

Del Marketing y las redes sociales

El marketing y las redes son dos de mis otras pasiones. Desde el año 2014 estoy muy pendiente a las tendencias, los creadores de contenido y las maneras de comunicar. Ha sido como un hobby, aunque conjugado con el periodismo se ha vuelto un arma poderosa.
He mejorado la titulación y la manera de “vender la información”. Gracias a este pensamiento comercial detrás del periodismo, he logrado alcanzar algunos premios nacionales como gestor de medios y hasta dos premios de innovación.

Marketing and social media

Marketing and networking are two of my other passions. Since 2014 I am very aware of trends, content creators and ways to communicate. It has been like a hobby, although combined with journalism it has become a powerful weapon.

I have improved the titling and the way I "sell information". Thanks to this commercial thinking behind journalism, I have managed to achieve some national awards as a media manager and even two innovation awards.

Del emprendimiento

No es raro que, intentando aprender de marketing, terminara de emprendedor. No he sido un emprendedor exitoso, pero muy pocos a la primera lo son. En 2015 fundé una pequeña editorial que ponía libros editados y corregidos en Amazon, les hacía portadas y campañas de promoción.

El problema era que a nivel económico era insostenible. No cobraba por los servicios, sino por las regalías y no siempre un libro recibía regalías. Para los autores era inconcebible que sus obras no generaran dinero y a la larga rescindían el contrato. Tampoco cooperaban en la promoción, diciendo que eso no era su problema.
En 2017 decidí cerrarla, aunque cumplí el sueño de varios autores de ver sus libros en físico. No podía sostenerlo. Sin embargo, en mayo de 2021 se me ocurrió empezar un nuevo camino con Kapi Academia.

La idea inicial era enseñar a las personas las ventajas de Telegram, aunque a largo plazo pretendo construir un espacio de aprendizajes sobre redes sociales y creación de contenido que dé oportunidad a pequeños emprendedores de aprender y desarrollarse.

About entrepreneurship

It is not unusual that, trying to learn marketing, I ended up as an entrepreneur. I have not been a successful entrepreneur, but very few first-time entrepreneurs are. In 2015 I founded a small publishing house that put edited and proofread books on Amazon, did covers and promotional campaigns for them.

The problem was that it was economically unsustainable. I didn't charge for services, but for royalties and not always a book received royalties. For the authors it was inconceivable that their works did not generate money and eventually they terminated the contract. They also did not cooperate in promotion, saying that was not their problem.
In 2017 I decided to close it, although I fulfilled the dream of several authors to see their books in physical form. I could not sustain it. However, in May 2021 it occurred to me to start a new path with Kapi Academia.

The initial idea was to teach people the advantages of Telegram, although in the long term I intend to build a space for learning about social networks and content creation that gives opportunity to small entrepreneurs to learn and develop.

Había perdido la fe de creer en algún nuevo espacio social hasta que vi la propuesta de hive. Ahora gracias al impulso de todos en la comunidad me siento arropado y bienvenido. Gracias, en especial a @manuphotos que me apoyó para esta oportunidad, y nos vemos pronto.
