Hola mis buenos amigos de hive, felices fiestas y prosperidad para el nuevo año 2023 que ya va tocando nuestras puertas. Espero que se me encuentren bien de salud, disfrutando de estos últimos días del año en familia. Regreso para traerles una nueva entrada cargada de muchas alegrías, una experiencia personal bien bonita de este pasado 27 de diciembre, con mis compañeros de trabajo más mi chiquitín.

Hello my good friends of hive, happy holidays and prosperity for the new year 2023 that is already knocking on our doors. I am back to bring you a new entry full of joys, a very nice personal experience of this past December 27th, with my co-workers and my little boy.

Todos los fines de años, como es costumbre en el salón de Operaciones del Hospital dónde pertenezco, se reúnen casi todo el colectivo de trabajadores del mismo, un día escogido para compartir y celebrar todo un año de servicio. No había tenido la suerte de participar en estas actividades, casi siempre me tocaba trabajar por estas fechas o simplemente no iba, pero siempre escuchaba los comentarios de lo bien que se la pasaban.

Every year-end, as it is customary in the Operations Room of the Hospital where I belong, almost the entire group of workers of the same meet, a day chosen to share and celebrate a whole year of service. I had not been lucky enough to participate in these activities, I almost always had to work on these dates or I simply did not go, but I always heard the comments about how much fun they had.

Esta vez fue diferente, quizás me animó a participar la agradable coincidencia de la fecha escogida para tal actividad. Resulta que escogieron el mismo día del cumpleaños 8 de mi niño, así que me pareció una muy buena idea participar con mi niño, personaje este que nada más que le dije que había un viaje, pues se alegró mucho.

This time it was different, perhaps I was encouraged to participate by the pleasant coincidence of the date chosen for the activity. It turns out that they chose the same day as my child's 8th birthday, so I thought it was a very good idea to participate with my child, and as soon as I told him that there was a trip, he was very happy.

Me traje a mi niño porque no tenía pensado hacerle fiesta, la verdad es que la situación es muy dura por estas fechas de finales de año, para nadie es un secreto la situación en que vivimos. Pero tranquilos, tenía una pequeña actividad familiar en la casa esperando, solo que no se lo había dicho, porque era un secreto en conjunto con mi esposa, ella no pudo asistir a la actividad porque tenía un asunto personal con su mamá que atender.

I brought my son because I was not planning to make him a party, the truth is that the situation is very hard for these dates at the end of the year, for no one is a secret the situation in which we live. But don't worry, I had a small family activity in the house waiting for him, I just didn't tell him, because it was a secret with my wife, she could not attend the activity because she had a personal matter with her mother to attend.

El lugar escogido esta vez para la actividad era "Dos Hermanas", uno de los Campismos más visitados en mi provincia Pinar del Río, pues estamos hablando del mismo corazón de Viñales. No había tenido la suerte de visitar este maravilloso lugar, dónde el paisaje campestre de la naturaleza se mezcla con la acción del hombre, así que apunta otra más del por qué me animé esta vez a no perderme esta experiencia.

The place chosen this time for the activity was "Dos Hermanas", one of the most visited campsites in my province of Pinar del Río, since we are talking about the very heart of Viñales. I had not been lucky enough to visit this wonderful place, where the countryside landscape of nature is mixed with the action of man, so this is another reason why I decided this time not to miss this experience.

Días antes, por el grupo de WhatsApp creado por la Jefa del salón, dónde nos envía información sobre las actividades del centro, se iba compartiendo todo lo relevante a la actividad. Grupo este el cual fue una sugerencia que le hice a mi jefa, porque la pobre le reenviaba las informaciones de contacto a contacto. Como el chat está abierto a todos, se siente el calor amigable de los compañeros de trabajo, quienes nos la pasamos bromeando y compartiendo de todo.

Days before, through the WhatsApp group created by the head of the classroom, where she sends us information about the activities of the center, we were sharing everything relevant to the activity. This group was a suggestion I made to my boss, because the poor girl was forwarding the information from contact to contact. As the chat is open to everyone, you can feel the friendly warmth of coworkers, who spend time joking and sharing everything.

El día anterior había ido a recoger a mi niño, me lo traje para la ciudad para casa de mi esposa. Aquí lo esperaba una sorpresa, pues adoptamos un perrito pequeño, algo que mi niño hace tiempo quería. Pero de este nuevo inquilino les hablaré en otra ocasión, pues de este personaje lleva historia para contar.

The day before I had gone to pick up my son, I brought him to the city to my wife's house. Here a surprise awaited him, because we adopted a small dog, something that my son had wanted for a long time. But I will tell you about this new tenant another time, because this character has a story to tell.

Mis amigos que frialdad por estos días, llegó la etapa invernal de diciembre por todo lo alto, las apps del clima de los móviles marcaban unos 12 y 17 °c de temperatura, además de la lluvia peculiar de esta estación del año. Llegamos a pensar que el viaje se iba a posponer, por las inclemencias del tiempo que les confieso no eran buenas, al menos para andar con un niño.

We even thought that the trip was going to be postponed due to the inclement weather, which I confess was not good, at least for walking with a child.

En el grupo de WhatsApp nos dábamos ánimos entre todos, llegaron algunos a decir que "con lluvia o truenos la fiesta se daba si o si". Pero les diré que el día de la actividad amaneció con frío, más el día divino para salir, como si todas las fuerzas de la naturaleza se hubieran puesto de acuerdo para que este fuera perfecto. La hora escogida de la recogida por el transporte que se alquiló, fue las 9:00 am frente al Hospital. Allí llegué con mi niño, todo un personaje que muy graciosamente mientras me encontraba saludando a mis compañeros que esperaban el bus, soltó al grupo" hoy es mi cumpleaños".

In the WhatsApp group we were encouraging each other, some even said that "with rain or thunder, the party would happen if it rained or thundered". But I will tell you that the day of the activity dawned cold, but the day was divine to go out, as if all the forces of nature had agreed to make it perfect. The time chosen for the pick up by the rented transportation was 9:00 am in front of the Hospital. There I arrived with my boy, a real character who very graciously while I was greeting my companions who were waiting for the bus, told the group "today is my birthday".

El transporte llegó al sitio de recogida sobre las 9:30 AM, era una Diana de las de transporte urbano, todos nos acomodamos empezando así el viaje rumbo a "Viñales Campismo Dos Hermanas". El trayecto hacia la instalación para mí fue algo tedioso, porque las curvas no me hacen bien, pero por suerte a pesar de la velocidad en que el chófer el bus cogía aquellas curvas no terminé vomitando, algunos no corrieron con la misma suerte. Mi niño disfrutó el trayecto, pues como si con él no fuera, aquello era pura fiesta.

The transport arrived at the pick up place around 9:30 AM, it was a Diana of the urban transport, we all settled in and started the trip to "Viñales Campismo Dos Hermanas". The ride to the facility for me was a little tedious, because the curves do not do me good, but luckily despite the speed at which the bus driver took those curves I did not end up vomiting, some did not have the same luck. My child enjoyed the ride, as if it was not with him, that was pure party.

"Llegamos heee" , a pesar de que desde el comienzo y transcurso del viaje, más una vez llegados al pueblo de Viñales la vista nos regalaba un paisaje peculiar de esta región Pinareña, cada paso era mejor, pues todo era más bonito. Pero nada comparado con el lugar que nos esperaba para recibirnos, era temprano, aún en la mañana todo estaba tranquilo, aunque ya había una bocina compartiendo música para todo el ambiente.

"We arrived heee". Although from the beginning and course of the trip, and once we arrived at the town of Viñales, the view gave us a peculiar landscape of this region of Pinar del Río, every step was better, because everything was more beautiful. But nothing compared to the place that was waiting to receive us, it was early, even in the morning everything was quiet, although there was already a speaker sharing music for the whole atmosphere.

Todos, según su afinidad, se fueron colocando en las mesas al rededor de la piscina de la instalación. Con mi niño compartí mesa con mi amiga y compañera de trabajo Nora, a la cual animé a participar en esta actividad, asistió con su hijo Enrique, incluso salía ese día de 24 horas de guardia, pero eso no se interpondría entre ella y la diversión. Enseguida mi niño se pegó a ella, por qué tiene arte para los muchachos, según dice, además siempre está contagiando a todos con su alegría.

Everyone, according to their affinity, were placed at the tables around the pool of the facility. With my child I shared a table with my friend and co-worker Nora, whom I encouraged to participate in this activity, she attended with her son Enrique, she was even going on 24-hour duty that day, but that would not come between her and the fun. My son immediately took to her, because she has a knack for kids, she says, and she is always infecting everyone with her joy.

El jefe de cirugía pasaba por las mesas recogiendo el dinero de las ofertas gastronómicas que nos brindarían en la instalación, lo gracioso es que venía una y otra vez cobrando hasta la risa por estar allí. Pero nada alarmante para todo el buen rato que nos esperaba allí. Mi niño pedía algo de comer, aún no preparaban los alimentos, así que lo llevé a tomarse una piña colada, era lo único que vendían en la cafetería.

The chief surgeon was passing by the tables collecting the money for the gastronomic offers that we would receive at the facility, the funny thing is that he came again and again charging us to the point of laughter for being there. But nothing alarming for all the good time that awaited us there. My child asked for something to eat, they were not preparing the food yet, so I took him to drink a pina colada, it was the only thing they sold in the cafeteria.

Luego de tomarnos media botella de Ron Habana club con refresco de kola, empezó a calentarse el ambiente, las personas empezaron a tomarse fotos por todo el lugar y a bailar con la buena música que allí se escuchaba. Bien cerca del mediodía comenzaron a servir los aperitivos, el pato ofrecía buena variedad, se presentaba con fritas de malanga, buñuelos, dos roscas, dos pizzas y unas empanadas.

After drinking half a bottle of Ron Habana club with kola soda, the atmosphere began to warm up, people began to take pictures all over the place and dance to the good music that could be heard there. Well around noon the appetizers began to be served, the duck offered a good variety, it was presented with fried malanga, fritters, two roscas, two pizzas and some empanadas.

Un rato después llega Andy, como es el único que tenía carro propio, le habían encargado traer la cardosa, ensalada fría, entre otros, para el picadito que entre todos reunimos. La cardosa estaba muy sabrosa, el ahumado más las viandas de la misma daban buen paladar. Pero la sensación fue la ensalada fría, la hizo él, pues tiene buena mano para la cocina.

A while later Andy arrived, as he was the only one with his own car, he had been asked to bring the cardosa, cold salad, among other things, for the picadito that we all put together. The cardosa was very tasty, the smoked meat plus the food in it made it taste good. But the sensation was the cold salad, he made it, because he has a good hand in the kitchen.

Mi niño daba gusto verlo como devoraba todo aquel manjar, la verdad no sé dónde ese flaquito mío guardaba en su estómago de toda aquella comida. Nadie se quedó atrás, todos le fueron arriba a la comida. Después de almuerzo, el sol empezó a calentar un poco, animando a algunos a bañarse en la piscina, como el caso de mi niño que le encanta.

My little boy was a pleasure to see how he devoured all that delicacy, the truth is I don't know where that little skinny boy of mine kept all that food in his stomach. No one was left behind, everyone went up to the food. After lunch, the sun began to warm up a little, encouraging some to go swimming in the pool, as in the case of my boy who loves it.

El grupo, o parte de él, se animó a caminar hacia "El Mural de la Prehistoria", lugar que queda a unos pasos de dónde nos encontrábamos. Mi niño se quedó a cargo del hijo de Nora en la piscina, pues no hubo quien lo sacara para ir allí. Por el camino hacia el Mural nos tiramos fotos, pura charla y jodedera. No era difícil desde donde estábamos apreciar la belleza del lugar, pues se veía desde lejos, pero nada como estar de frente a esta increíble representación de historia rupestre.

The group, or part of it, was encouraged to walk to "El Mural de la Prehistoria", a place a few steps away from where we were. My son was left in charge of Nora's son in the pool, as there was no one to take him out to go there. On the way to the Mural we took pictures, chatted and screwed around. It was not difficult from where we were to appreciate the beauty of the place, as it could be seen from far away, but nothing like being in front of this incredible representation of rock history.

Demás está decir que se formó él toma foto aquí y foto allá, todos querían llevarse en varias fotos un pedazo del lugar. Por mi parte no me quedé fuera de esta actividad, así que aproveché tomándome algunas fotografías para presumir en mis perfiles de redes sociales. Allí estuvimos un rato charlando hasta que regresamos al campismo, incluso yo me fui antes porque ya me preocupaba el niño.

Needless to say that it was a photo shoot here and photo there, everyone wanted to take a piece of the place in several pictures. As for me, I was not left out of this activity, so I took some pictures to show off on my social media profiles. We stayed there for a while chatting until we returned to the campsite, even I left earlier because I was already worried about the child.

El resto de la tarde fue charlando entre amigos, bailes y pura diversión para todos. Eduardito mi niño el que ya se había vestido luego de haberse bañado en la piscina, pues llegaron unos niños más menos de su edad y se volvió a meter en el agua. No creo que ni haciéndole la mejor fiesta de cumpleaños del mundo, pudiera competir con todo lo que esté niño cumpleañero, disfrutó esa tarde.

The rest of the afternoon was chatting with friends, dancing and pure fun for everyone. Eduardito, my little boy, who had already dressed up after his swim in the pool, got some kids around his age and went back into the water. I don't think even throwing him the best birthday party in the world could compete with everything this birthday boy enjoyed that afternoon.

En la instalación no solo estábamos nosotros, también estaban los campistas, los que en su mayoría jóvenes llevaban su diversión aparte, con toda la carga de esa edad dónde todo es pura travesura y ganas de pasarla bien. Fue un día mágico, digno de repetir muchas veces, gracias a la vida por un día más, al clima que nos dejó disfrutarlo, gracias a hive por ser la encargada de económicamente disfrutar todo lo que pude darle a mi niño, pero ante todo gracias a ti que me lees, que tengas el mejor fin de año posible.

In the installation there were not only us, there were also the campers, most of whom were young and had their own fun, with all the burden of that age where everything is pure mischief and desire to have a good time. It was a magical day, worth repeating many times, thanks to life for one more day, thanks to the weather that let us enjoy it, thanks to hive for being in charge of economically enjoying everything I could give to my child, but above all thanks to you who read me, have the best end of the year possible.
