Got my son a great guitar for his birthday

in Guitar5 years ago

My son is very busy with exploring music and instruments het particular bass and guitar. He has this great game on his PC which is called "Rocksmith". With this game you can actually plug in your real instrument and play along with a lot of famous songs. No surprise he plays a lot of Volbeat :)

He had his birthday last sunday and because of the circumstances and of course we love him that much we suprised him with a special gift. A "Slash signature" Epiphone Les Paul. He was crazy happy... and thrilled getting it. He saw this guitar online and was dreaming about it.... Those are some great moments, seeing your kid that happy... And of course in my own interest too, I love to hear and see him playing it. And to be honest, it's a darn fine guitar....

It's a complete set with guitar, gigbag, picks and even an Epiphone 15 watt Slashes Snakepit amp...
Isn't that awesome?

Of course he was happy as he could be... Well in these strange days with a lot of things happening in the world, some positive vibe is more then welcome...

Have a great evening,

Peter

ps. here a little video of the game rocksmith to see the capabilities of the game.

Every song you can learn in lesson mode. Really worth having a look...

I'd have loved that when I was a kid, although Slash was also a kid back then. I'm sure he will love that and maybe let Dad play with him.

We already did that :) I learned him the pentatonic scale, he played his own solo while I was playing the basslines to it :) It was much fun !!!

Awesome present! The guitar is beautiful. I love little practice amps. A 15 watt amp can still put out a surprising amount of sound :) I hope he has fun jamming out

Thank you very much. The amp does produce a big sound for such a small amp. He loves playing it :)

Wow, that is pretty awesome! I was trying to sign up for the free deal that Fender has right now where you can get three months of their lessons, but I missed the cut off. I was a bit bummed about that. I am hoping that someday I will be able to learn to play guitar. That is a nice instrument there!

A bummer, I heared that the Fender lessons are really cool. With this guitar my son also got some online lessons. Didn't have a look yet. The guitar is a really cool one, it plays like a charm... We'll perhaps now it's the time to learn some playing?

I have heard it is easier to learn on an electric. I am not sure how accurate that is though.

That's true. The neck of the guitar is smaller and the strings are more easy to press. But my advice, learn on a acoustic. That way you are able to play both in a good way.

Excellent point! Good thing I have an acoustic already!

Moest hij geen cello dan? 🤣😂🤣😂

You need the wig, shades, black hat and cig in the mouth now and he's the same as Slash.

I bought Rocksmith 2 years ago for @dismayedworld and a guitar. She never tried it out. I did but did not continue with it. It looked really good.

hahaha all but the cig is good ;) ... Yeah Rocksmith is indeed a great game. As well for playing along with a lot of great songs, but also to learn technique and chords.

I watched the Rocksmith video you included, that looks super cool. What a fun way to learn.

It is, the game is very extensive. A lot of great and cool options.. And indeed a great way to learn.

Wow what an awesome gift!
