We have had #TeleTuesday and #Straturday going on here for a while, but we were lacking something for Gibson-type guitars. @sketch.and.jam came up with @GibSunday. Why did I not think of that?
I do not own a Gibson, although I had a sort of fake one for a while. What I do have is my Gordon Smith GS2 that is based on a Les Paul Junior. I bought this back in my student days (many years ago) and it is a great guitar.
I was looking for something to play and found this backing track that I must have downloaded years ago. It is nice and laid back. I have had a nice day with some running and then chores such as going to the dump. Tomorrow is a holiday in the UK, so I can do some other stuff around the house then.
I start off on the neck pickup and switch to the bridge after a while. You will hear this guitar has good sustain. It has a brass nut and a simple, solid bridge that may help with that. I was just winging it and throwing in various techniques around the standard blues scale.
I hope you enjoy more of my guitar faces.
Rock on!

Love it, I always wanted a les paul jr in tv yellow with black pickups. Is yours a short scale? It's amazing how easy short scales guitars play compared to more standard scale ones. For blues I like to use the neck pickup more often to kind of mellow out the treble notes.
It's standard Gibson scale length. I play the Tele more, so it does feel different. I thought I would switch pickups to show the difference and it affects how I play.

.Thank you, Steve! @steevc
Very cool to the uninitiated. Did you have sore fingers after that?
You build up calluses, although I don't play as much as I should.
I didn't hear any mistakes this time, I used to improvise when I played keyboards. Similar I guess?
Just have to stick around the scale and you can't go far wrong. With some other jams I was not even sure what scale to use. I need to study this stuff more. There is a logic to it, but it takes time to get it and make it sound good.
damn. I would love to have this backing track and try play some blues... I have not really attempted playing on a blues backing track before but I would try it out when next I am with my guitar and my other equipments...
There are lots of Youtube and various other places if you look around. Not sure where this one was from.
