Hello food lovers I am Jakia Simi from Bangladesh. Today I will share a video of Bengali tradition dud chitoi pitha.
Dud chitoi pitha is a traditional and much loved delicacy of rural Bangladesh. especially popular during the winter season. It is a soft, round rice cake that is usually served with thick, sweetened milk. This simple yet flavourful food reflects the warmth of village life and the rich culinary heritage of Bengali culture.
Dud chitoi is mainly made with rice flour, which is mixed with water to create a smooth batter. The batter is slightly fermented to give the chitoi it's soft texture. Small earthen or metal molds are used to steam the batter.result ing in fluffy, white rice cakes. What makes dud chitoi is the topping of rice milk, often thicken by slow boiling. Jaggery is added to the milk to give it simple sweetness.
This dish is closely connected with rural areas in winter morning. On foggy winter days families gather around the kitchen while chitoi pithas are being streamed.Dud chitoi is not only delicious but also nutritious. Rice provides energy and milk supplies calcium, protein and essential vitamins. Because it is steamed rather than fried.Dud chitoi considered a light, and healthy traditional food.It is suitable for people of all ages.from children to elderly. This traditional pitha also holds social and cultural value. It is completely a traditional food of bangalis history.
