Hello there, Blockchain Foodies!

Sometime ago, I had the chance of trying this fruit. It is known as dragon fruit. This weird-looking thing is a fruit that grows from a cactus. Well, one of the many types of fruits that come from cacti.

Even when the cactus is common around many regions of Venezuela, it isn't a common sight in fruit stands and other places. The kilogram of this fruit is around 9$. And that's a steep price. Not even apples which are amongst the most expensive item in the rubric are worth that much.

Anyhow, it is a thick skin and a really vibrant yellow hue. This is one of the variants. I know there's a violet one. I've been told that one is really sour. Perhaps even more than a lemon. In contrast, the yellow one has a mild sweet taste. To recall the flavor is tough, but it is a mix of grape, banana and something else in the mix. The seeds are non-digestible. They are cover is a substance very similar to to our nails. I guess that's how the plants assures it will grow in other places. However, they are not tough and can be grinded while chewing.

I don't know what's the exact way of eating this fruit, but I did it like you see on the photos. It was an interesting experience, but not one that is worth its price.

I wonder if this fruit is that expensive anywhere or if it is just a thing of the region. In the other hand, I bet it could taste nice along some other things in a smoothie.
