Preparing sandwiches at home is one of the foods that I enjoy the most because I can place everything I can think of to give it the touch of @linita.
My brother-in-law, my older sister's husband, loved them when he lived with them. He always asked me, "when you're going to prepare some of your own sandwiches, I don't know why but I put the same ingredients and they never taste the same to me."
I wouldn't know how to explain it either because the truth is that we used the same ingredients. But I think the seasoning is in the right amount for each ingredient.
The Falafel sandwich is one of the sandwiches that I prepare when we want to eat something different. It is a pita bread filled with croquettes made with chickpeas, lettuce leaves, tomato slices and seasoned with two base sauces, one that is prepared with sesame cream, olive oil and garlic, and the other that is based on Greek yogurt , parsley, garlic and cucumber. This is another of my favorite sandwiches and although I don't make them very often, when I do make them we devour even the crumbs.
Previously to the day of preparing the sandwiches, I have already soaked the chickpeas to later process them with onion, garlic, parsley, salt and pepper. With this preparation, the croquettes are made, which are then fried in abundant and very hot oil.
I also have the sauces ready. the tahini sauce, which is a mixture of tahini, garlic, olive oil and a little water to give it the consistency of a sauce.
And the yogurt sauce, which has Greek yogurt, parsley, garlic, cucumber and salt. These sauces are essential to give these sandwiches a special touch.
The first thing I do is open the pita bread, which is a bread made with wheat flour, olive oil, salt and yeast. This one is commercially manufactured, and they are very fresh. They are what I like to prepare sandwiches because they do not split due to their softness.
Once opened I place them one layer on top of the other and begin to prepare the sandwich.
Then we varnish with the tahini sauce, this sauce gives an exquisite taste to the bread, each bite is a unique flavor, mixed with the other ingredients.
Then we add the lettuce, which will be the bed for the other ingredients. The lettuce is also very fresh, I like it crunchy and before adding it to the sandwich it has been well washed and disinfected.
I like that the tomatoes are fresh, that they are not very ripe and before adding them to the sandwich I wash them, I remove the skin and the seeds. Then I cut them into thin slices.
The parsley, well washed and finely chopped. There is no better flavor than parsley to increase the flavor of vegetables and croquettes.
Now we place the chickpea croquettes. I love these croquettes. Alone, in sandwiches, with sauces, whatever I love.
In the sandwich we can place them whole or chopped, however you prefer.
Then we add the yogurt sauce, you can add all the sauce you want. I love it with a lot of sauce because the flavor is unmatched.
And the most complicated thing about this sandwich is the wrap, 🤣🤣🤣, the truth is that it always gets complicated for me because since I love filling the bread with a lot of ingredients, I always end up removing it to be able to close it without it breaking.
Once the roll is achieved, we can enjoy it at once or pass it through the iron to heat the bread. Either way it's a delight. I love this sandwich.
Okay, we can count that as sandwich... btw. i'll have one please!😁
I will gladly take your order 😁
