I guess we all hear many reasons for which we could assume that hitchhiking is dangerous. But what if the majority of the people have a good heart? Then chances of having a positive experience are actually very high...
For my series about alternative ways of travelling I interviewed Janis (Czech-Greek) and Dalisa (Mexican). Together they gave me great hitchhiking tips. They explained how to hitchhike alone and how to stay safe, aka follow your gut feeling. It sounds like hitchhiking could just be a lot of fun if we forget about this scary connotation!

I do not think hitch hiking is dangerous but I'm not a woman. I wouldn't recommend hitch hiking to the ladies, dudes are just too weird these days. Plus, they're disguised now so absolutely not. Now that these masks are in play, I won't even let my wife ride with Uber.
I've met some woman hitch hikers, though, traveling across multiple countries. I think it's really cool but also really dangerous. Be careful ladies.
Hey! Thanks for your feedback :) I understand where you're coming from and probably now isn't the best time to start hitchhiking anyway... But I feel like with some precautions all genders should be able to hitchhike safely, that's why I really liked the tips Dalisa gave ^^
