Which era would you visit if you could travel back in time?

Dear steemers,
a rather philosophical question I ask myself sometimes is, which era I would visit and what would I do there, if I could travel back in time.
It's a rather tough one I think. There are so many thing I would like to see first-hand. On the other side, there is a high chance to get killed wothin a short period, because you are a foreigner and also stand out as such. You can't speak the local language and would probably look (and smell) different.
Foreigners were seen as enemies throughout most of humans history.
Even a modern weapon would only help you for a short period and in any case, you have to sleep from time to time.
What are your thoughts on this? Where would you go, which time would you choose and what would you take with you?
