Sirkap

The city of Sirkap was built by Demetrios, King of Greco-Dijkretius, after the invasion of ancient India in 180 BC. Demetris established an Indian-Greek kingdom in modern Pakistan in the north and northwest, which lasted until around 10 BC. Sirkap is also said to have been rebuilt by King Menander I.

The excavation of the Old City was carried out by Sir Hergrew under the supervision of Sir John Marshall from 1912 to 1930. In 1944 and 1945, Mortimer Wheeler and his colleagues discovered more parts.
