WELCOME MAGSAYSAY

in #history7 years ago

With 86 kilometers away from the bustling city of Davao, Magsaysay is a remote yet promising town that prides itself of its simplicity and authenticity.
Passing through its neighboring town of Bansalan, Davao del Sur, a huge concrete arc visibly painted with “WELCOME Magsaysay BIDA Ka” in Crossing Barayong greets you, giving you an impression that be at home while visiting our little municipality.MAG.jpg
While travelling ahead to the town proper, decades-old Indian trees planted side by side in the highway are not just an attraction but also signify a care for environment and life as they produce a refreshing and clean air.
The presence of these trees actually made the municipality a national winner for Clean, Green and Health Program (Gawad Pangulo sa Kapaligiran) awardee for two consecutive years in 2002 and 2003.
High school students executed the adopt-a-tree program conceptualized by the local government in the late 1990s and this time around the trees that need regular trimming are still a sight to behold, plus the vast greening rice fields you can see from your right and left.
Moving on, you will see the new state-of-the-art municipall hall that first-time visitor can’t resist but to have a picture or a selfie.
We have still a lot to offer in Magsaysay. So explore and discover for yourself the beauty and wonders of our place!MAG.jpg
