Philology is etymologically derived from the Greece philologia. Philologia derives from two words, namely philos meaning ' friend ' and logos meaning ' speech or science '. Based on etimologinya, these two words form the meaning of ' like talk ' or ' like science '. The meaning was later developed into a love of learning, cuts to the science, and thrilled to the results of the papers of high quality.
Philology as a term, first introduced by Erastothenes, and then used by a group of experts from Alexandria since the 3rd century Bc a group of experts working with the aim to find the original form of the texts of old Greece, with the road put aside the errors contained in it. As a term, philology has a very broad definition, and always evolving.
